Well its been an interesting week to say the least...spunked plenty of loose coin off and taken a few hits with some very sloppy plays this week as i looked to bolster my Cheltenham coffers however all i succeeded in doing was lowering them and my expectations as i lurched from one disaster to another...
On the plus side i have been " trialing " the new Cashout feature on the upgraded Betfair site and so far im impressed , its quick , responsive and will usually give you the best available price so its currently a Thumbs Up from me and i urge all Traders , Bettors and Players to give it a go....
Onto the Weekend and as we edge ever nearer to the Cheltenham Festival a lot of horses will be keeping cool in their respective homes however a few will be trying their luck in the Imperial Cup as there is a £100K bonus if the winner of this race can then score in ANY race during the festival which has happened a few times and most notably by the Pipe team so take note of whatever he runs and the rest of the card is pretty decent as well so that is where i shall be heading for my Saturday fix.
SANDOWN
RACE 1
WIN - CYCLOP -
EW - ULTIMATE ACT - 1st @ 5.04
LONG - PRINCESS OMBU -
SUMMARY : First race today and its a Juvenile Hurdle which as we know is a good pocket filler for me ;-) and this small field affair suits me fine.
CYCLOP is thoroughly exposed and we know exactly what we are getting with him , not without a wee bit of ability and a sound jumper this 120 rated sort ran a solid race lto running third but beaten by a nice Paul Nicholls runner in Southfield Vic and todays good 2nd Serienshock ( Pipe ) which is equal in terms of form of anything currently on offer however the negative is that is is highly likely he may find one or two that will improve however i also feel that the bookies will factor this into their markets which will result in us getting a better than expected price on a runner that will run to form and its the others that have to improve to win and if you can get 5/1 or better then i would say this is a damn good sporting bet but dont be surprised if it loses lol...
* 3 In the PP as i think this race could provide a boil over.

RACE 2
WIN - AIGLE DE SEE -
EW - AS DE MEE - 1st @ 13.0
LONG - REMILUC / GREAT TRY - Unp / 2nd @ 11.90
SUMMARY : Next up we have the
European Breeders' Fund William Hill National Hunt' Novices' Handicap Hurdle Final (Grade 3)
..And this looks a cracker with a very decent field of 18 taking part and so so many with rock solid chances and many more that a case can be argued.Remiluc will be getting some from me for no other reason than its a Tom "" Boom Boom " Canon ride and he is my Jock to follow ...My information on AIGLE DE SEE is that this Wins and they quite simply dont have anything else to say although they respect the fact its a tough race with some very tasty sorts included but nonetheless they are insistent that its in a different class and a clear round sees it win..so this will obviously form part of my betting package.
The Pipe runners have to be feared as he will be all out to win this but i prefer the Paul Nicolls pair as bigger dangers and that is where i will rest my PP feet upon.

RACE 3
WIN - MOSSPARK - 2nd @ 3.95
EW - FINANCIAL CLIMATE - 1st @ 6.80
LONG - BALLYHEIGUE BAY - 3rd @ 6.20
SUMMARY : Next up is a pretty standard looking 7 runner Hcap Chase and its a race i fucking abhor....Ballyheigue Bay has won two of his three starts over fences, beating Umberto D'olivate at Kempton, and been placed in the other. He'll need to improve again to take this but is capable of doing so. Kings Apollo is on a hat-trick after wins at Taunton and Wincanton but is another who needs more in this grade. Saroque hasn't really been firing this season but Ziga Boy is useful when the fences don't get in the way and Mosspark has been highly tried so far over the larger obstacles and should find this easier. FINANCIAL CLIMATE's only poor run this season came on bottomless ground over a longer trip. He's gone up 4lb since scoring at Chepstow but has Thomas Garner's claim in his favour again and shouldn't be far away.

RACE 4
WIN - FASCINO RUSTICO -
EW - BIDOUREY -
LONG - CAMPING GROUND - 4th @ 37.64
SUMMARY : This is a Doozy..24 Runners in a Hcap Hurdle and of course its the IMPERIAL CUP...Good Fucking Luck!!...
I have been following FASCINO RUSTICO this season and bar the lto fall it has been excellent and is still improving with experience and is imo a horse to watch and follow and this was disputing the lead and on the move when tipping up 2 out and would have been in the mix lto and for me i think the 20/1 is outstanding if you look at the way it destroyed Zip Top you will see exactly what i mean....this horses gets my juices flowing...a clear round sees this go very close imo.
Elsewhere we have a deepness of riches rarely seen and i could pick any four or five from a hat and expect a good run however its mu job to narrow the field and thats what im going to do.
BIDOUREY
CAMPING GROUND
THISTLECRACK
These are my three against the field to give me a sporting chance in both the PP and the pocket, West Wizard..i have no faith in this at all regardless of what im told by the stable as this smooth travelling and finding fuck all sort continues to frustrate whilst Zip Top has about two tonnes to find just to make midfield so that can fuck off but big EW runs from Ascendant and First Avenue wouldn't surprise me.

RACE 5
WIN - WHISTLE DIXIE -
EW - LIFEBOAT MONA - 3rd @ 10.12
LONG - OUT OF THE MIST -
SUMMARY : Next on the agenda is possibly one of the toughest NHF races you will see outside of Cheltenham/Aintree..this is a crackerjack of a race....just fantastic to see a turnout like this days before the fezzie...
Lets start by thinning out the field so we can remove ALL the four year olds as they wont be winning which leaves 11 runners .
From the remaining 11 i really like WHISTLE DIXIE , LIFEBOAT MONA , COPPER KAY and OUT OF THE MIST and in truth i have no real preference for any , The Hendo runner is an awkward sort that needs to grow more whilst Mullins runner has an absence to overcome and with a few others held on lateral form i think these are the safest plays.

RACE 6
WIN - YORKIST -
EW - SEVENTH SKY - 2nd @ 5.56
LONG - N/A -
SUMMARY : 5 Runner Hcap Chase now and nothing to get excited about in a very average n dull looking race in which YORKIST and Seventh Sky should dominate.
RESULTS / NOTES :
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RACE 7
WIN - BABY SHINE -
EW - SAINTS N SINNERS -
LONG - N/A
SUMMARY : And Repeat...but with 7 runners this time...
so i added the pic to enliven the post as i was getting bored...;-)...and to keep my Welsh Friend Steve happy ..haha..Mick Easterby rarely ventures this far south unless he's got a realistic chance of returning home with some prize money so Saints And Sinners, who has won his last three, must go on the short-list despite a career-high mark. Granville Island has been knocking on the door but keeps climbing the weights and Rouge Et Blanc is also struggling to get his head in front. Dare To Endeavour and Anay Turge are nicely treated but have been largely out of sorts lately. BABY SHINE is back over her best trip and is a sound jumper. She usually runs up to her mark and another success over fences is long overdue.
