Afternoon All..

Hi All ,

There has been a slowdown in posts of late as ive been away in Spain for a while now back for a few days to let yall now that until further notice there will be no race cards or tips posted other than Group One's...these are the races i punt professionally and these will be the races i review / preview on here , this is by n large a time constraints issue as i simply dont currently have the 4 hours a day needed to run a card out " just for fun "....so any thoughts i have i will just keep to myself but when there is some class about i will come on with a shout.....until then adios amigo's...now its back to the Sun n Golf.....

The Morning After....

Well with just the Two Winners ( first and Last races @ around 5/1  ) its fair to say Wednesday didnt hit the heights achieved on Tuesday..but in truth it wasnt expected although i was taken a back at how poorly Treve run ( apparently moving lame down to post ) and it was quite a poor show from Sky Lantern , now i know trainers often say " it will come on for the run " but the horse looked in shabby condition and tbh the fucking trainers are paid handosmely to get these cunts fighting fit and race ready for the day , if its not ready to race to win then DONT FUCKING RUN....it boils my piss when they trot this shit out , can you imagine the scene say in the EPL and Arsenal  ( insert any team ) just casually jog around because they are not really fit enough and need match practice and rather slovenly lose 7-0 and the manager does a press conference and states after , " well i knew we would struggle today as the side isnt quite fit yet and we will be better for this match "....there would be riots...quite simply imo any and every horse that gets gated for a race should be in A1 condition and ready to race to the fullest of their potential and if they are even 5% under this then they should get pulled as this leaves the paying punter at a huge disadvantage as we generally take everything on trust....Intergral reversed form yesterday as expected  , Mustajeeb and Anthem Alexander were both great winners yesterday and Mustajeeb pays yet another huge compliment to Kingman so what have we for today ?...Well its another tough days with a range of potential on show...no real card today just some " as we go " thoughts...

A pretty decent betting heat to start the day with the Norfolk Stakes and just the 9 runners and we have a red hot Fav here in the shape of THE GREAT WAR an absolute tank of a son by War Front and a great looker too , now im no fan of Irish racing or the way they issue ratings but this tank has won as it liked on both occasions and has never yet been off the bridle , lto ( both races have been over 5f ) the smallish field were all in full on sprint mode 2f out whilst this just cantered up ( was 1/9f ) and breezed by without the slightest movement , now both winning times and the splits were very average which leads me to believe that the opposition was very weak but the times can be upgraded as he was never at any time off the bridle so never had a race  so any improvement ( which is nigh on gteed ) could see a very smart performance and i do truly think that this could be a bit special , im not saying its a future classic winner as its untested over any significant distance but as a early season sprinter it looks the dogs bollocks but Even Money ( 2.0 ) is plenty short enough for a horse that has it to prove in this much stiffer test , i had this down at 6/4 ( 2.50 )  which i also figured was a fair price so it would seem to me the bookies are running a bit scared of this and going thru this a bit more i think they might have a point with the only obvious threats to come will be Mukhmal who lto won the Lily Agnes in fine style and Snap Shots who won really well and offered up some very good fractions with only the hanging towards the end and running green ruining the overall profile of the race but is way way over priced at 30/1 ( 5/1 fap ) and looks a very good alternative bet ( EW ) , but the reality is that The Great War should be winning this and afterwards AoB may well say " hes the best ive ever trained ".....

Next up its the Hampton Court Stakes and this is a strange test for 3 yr olds racing over the odd trip off 1m2f ( not a fan of this ) and quite a few will either be wanting further or will not stay if its well run , there is no real pattern in who wins price wise as the recent winners range at everything between 9/4 and 20/1...so take a punt...MUTTAKAYEF at 6.4 looks the best bet here for me ( EW ) beaten fto by Barley Mow but was hampered by that horse in the run in and after disappointing  ( 2nd ) in a Listed Event has gone on to win well at Sandown since and looks a typical mid season improver and will imo take all the beating , stays the trip well can run off the pace or with the pace , quickens and battles and i think this is a nice price as the other form horses are stepping up from Hcap company and could easily get found out.

Time for the Ribblesdale Stakes now and a decent looking renewal it appears too , WONDERSTRUCK @ 9/1 Looks a cracking EW bet in a field where most have to prove they stay , have the class or will not be bouncing after their last runs , this distance winner relished every last inch of the trip when asked to do so and stayed on really well to win a really useful looking maiden ( that included wonderhorse Hydrogen )  and this can improve enough to get involved and maybe win..another really nice bet imo.

Now its time for the Days big Race..the marathon 2m4f Ascot Gold Cup...and what an absolute beauty it looks with several big names lining up including our stable runner.
My Personal Bet here is an EW on TAC DE BOISTRON which is almost like the family pet to me and at 15/1 offers some fair value although i will be having some at BFSP as well in case it drifts , this is imo probably the best stayer in Europe upto 2m2f but has run to almost this trip before when just touched off by Altano in the Prix du Cadran ( has since easily beaten that horse a couple of times ) can race on just about any ground type and will thankfully have Martin Harley back in the plate after Atzeni cost me a fortune when leaving it too late at York and losing by a Neck when giving it too much to do in the straight, this simply has to get involved..regardless i will be cheering and hoping.....it wont be easy tho as Leading Light is a worthy Fav , this St Leger Winner looks a classy sort and if staying the trip well could end up being the best stayer in training but it has questions to answer and i think 2.2 ( Even Money ) is just fucking mental....not only my selection but it also has to beat Brown Panther , Altano , ESTIMATE ( Last years Winner ) and out of sorts Simenon...this will be a great race and a tough ask...Fav may win but there is much better value elsewhere.

The final two races today are pin sticker specials and..well ...if i want a bet in those i may just ask my old pal Richard Hurd what his shake n bet has come up with but in truth i dont think i will bother...

My Main Bets for today...

1. WIN ( NAP )  on THE GREAT WAR - Another stuffed AoB Fav although tbf this looks like it will make into a very decent 7f horse but it just had its legs taken away between 3-4f, Hopefully i can get a return on My EW Double/ Treble with Mutakayef & Wondersturck...

2. EW Trixie on ,
MUTAKAYEF  ( 2nd @ 9.40WONDERSTRUCK ( Unplaced but ran really well only just falling away in the final 1/2F ) and TAC DE BOISTRON ( Non - Runner )  three horses that can easily run well enough to place ( also fap treble on these ) and with some luck in running may win...a little bit speculative today but not total pony betting as i do feel the three have qualified cases and they are running on merit..so fingers crossed....

Royal ASCOT Day 2

Evening All ,
Well what can i say about the Tuesday ??....Fucking annoyed to fuck that i lost all my early scribbling but happy as Larry to hit 6 out 6 and see my NAP of the week hose up  in KINGMAN a horse i adore and think can honestly be as great as the mighty Frankel it is just utterly fantastic....and generally have everything else run as i had expected , thats the thing with group races on good ground with some form of difinitive form to work around i think the only chance i took was on Toronado but the reality was that a half fit Toronado would be better than any in the field fully fit...so was always worth a pop...the double come in , the monster treble i have waits on Treve and i hit some nice priced winners in my race dutches with the highlight being Domination at 19.0 that could be called the winner 3f out.....so we move onto weds and of course i wont be expecting to hit anywhere near the heights of today but i will still give it my best....

DAY 2

RACE 1
We start the day off with a race only the mentalists and unhinged will want to get involved in...." wheres me wallet ? "....23 runners barrel rolling over 7f splitting the narrow causeway in two as they charge thru and a race that is by no means short on class this is an absolute nightmare to unravel....only three places being paid is not good but the % will be higher..so although i am going to pick three against the field i feel a dutch fap may be the bet.
The first on my pin sticking list is REDBROOK twice a winner this term from 2 starts and last time was over the trip at Longchamp which is strong looking form on ground he will appreciate and with Frankie taking the reins it will be given every chance to shine and with this being ARD's only runner at the meeting they must fancy their chances and at around 14/1 it looks a decent enough EW bet.
The second runner to make the cut will be THAT IS THE SPIRIT for the red hot O'Meara / Tudhope team and this has won all 3 outings to date and all three this term with the latest the best when making all to beat Parbold rather cheekily ( insert lucky ) as Danny dropped his hands and eased right down coming to the line so without being pushed in any way it won and beat a decent enough yardstick and has to be respected and if given enough rope could easily play the hangman's role and again at around 15/1 offers marginal value.
Finally i think i will have MUSTAJEEB whose 7L pasting by Kingman is looking better each passing day , the drop in trip will suit , he will have come on for the run and Smullen is the man for the big occasion as he is very much in the mold of the magnificent Mick Kinane and this will give it a good go but offers little value at 7.4.
WIN - REDBROOK -
EW - THAT IS THE SPIRIT -
LONG - MUSTAJEEB( not a longshot i know but has to fill the berth ~) - 1st @ 5.60

And life doesnt get any easier here as we move onto a race for the 2 yr olds..The Queen Mary Stakes over 5f and 22 runners are due to line up and make this a mental dash and is another for the needy and greedy only plus a few of us PP lunatics.
Its fair to say ive not been blown away by any home grown 2 yr olds thus far so the first on the list is from Royal Ascot winning trainer and Yankee doodle dandy Wesley Ward...the trainer of SPANISH PIPEDREAM , its also fair to say i know nothing of its current form and can only guess that this son of Scat Daddy is a bit tasty ( and not in a Tesco lasagne way )...Wesley Ward has won this race before ..in fact it was 2009 when he lasted tasted the sweet succulency of success and he will know what sort of animal it takes to win but at 3.7 and already looking to get smashed in more this offers zero value in such a tough race....at the price either your an american racing aficionado that has a great read on the race or your following other peoples money and wildly guessing to fuck....either way i cant have it on my list , no value , too short and no form for me to relate to...not unlike Hootenanny which won yesterday this had a strong Coolemoore connection that bought it into play...although still guessy but at around 8/1 offered enough value to include.
So where do we go....Dangerous Moonlite won its maiden over CD but in such a slow time i could have probably sneaked a place that day , HARRY'S DANCER however is another from the inform J J Quinn yard and ran a smashing race when winning over the trip fto and in a time that makes it very competitive and is one i like and with a bit of improvement expected this should be up there challenging and at 14/1 offers a good deal more value than the Fav ( should that get much lower becomes a big lay ) , CLOUDS REST also looks interesting albeit with some slowish times on the board this will need to step up again but coming from one of the " sires of the moment " it would be foolish to think there isnt more to come and at 22/1 its becoming an EW bet to nothing.
TIGGY WIGGY will prove a very tough nut to crack but could struggle to dominate in this field as he has mostly done to date, nice horse with potential but still more required and im not sure how much he has left in the locker but at 6/1 its marginal value to find out.
AL FAREEJ and ADULATION both at around the 50/1 mark offer tremendous value as both will improve and both have shown a great deal of potential and both are well bred and could easily improve 20lb from that initial run and at those odds ...well  you only have to place a few pennies down for a nice return...
So im gonna say for the third horse im gonna go with BLUE AEGEAN for the boys in blue , this won really well lto and looks a sharp early sort with speed to burn and with Buick steering will have a good tactical sit all the way through and at 22/1 offers great value.

WIN - SPANISH PIPEDREAM -
EW - BLUE AEGEAN -
LONG - HARRYS DANCER -

Now we move onto todays Big Race..the PRINCE OF WALES Stakes and all i am going to say here is TREVE ( nap ) , Arc Winner that was beaten ..just...by a race fit Cirrus de Aigles fto but make no mistake this Prix Vermeille and Prix Diane winner is the real deal..a proper superstar and will smash these to bits...no problemo...and i have this as the third leg in my monster treble  ( with Toronado and Kingman ) .

WIN - TREVE - ( NAP ) - only 3rd...very disappointing..;(

This is a surprise...two races on the spin that are good for betting and are the right size to enjoy and get stuck into , this is the Duke of Cambridge Stakes over 1m for the oldies ( 4 + )  but not short on talent or ability.
First one to mention and my idea of the winner is SKY LANTERN a horse that has been mixing with the very best and with some success Winning the Guineas and the Coronation Stakes before getting dragged far and wide by Elusive Kate in the Falmouth Stakes and getting done into 2nd and getting no help from the stewards and again when 5th in the Nassau when she got bustled left right and center...before returning to the winners enclosure when winning the Sun Chariot Stakes and firmly putting naughty mare Elusive Kate inm her place and at 5.2 this looks astonishingly big.....if this was run 6 months ago she would be 6/4F...
Dangers ?..yeah there are a few namely ESOTERIQUE from France who won the Dahlia Stakes beating ( just held on ) Intergral ( far too short at 3.85 ) and Finally we can also have CERTIFY who will be a huge threat if back to form she had shown as a Juvenile...much to prove but not without ability...however if Sky Lantern turns up fit and with her A Game then she wins.

WIN - SKY LANTERN -
EW - ESOTERIQUE -
LONG - CERTIFY -

Abseil is clear at the head of the betting after picking up a competitive handicap at the Epsom Derby meeting. Lightly-raced and progressive, his chance is there for all to see but there may be better value on show, including RED AVENGER. Upsides with Abseil when badly hampered by the latter at Epsom, he's 5lb better off and should be thereabouts. Here Comes When beat Abseil at Chester last month but was raised 11lb for that success. Belgian Bill and Prince Of Johanne have won the last two renewals but both race off higher marks today. Artigiano should go well after a second at Nottingham but Chil The Kite has been upped 5lb for winning at Newbury and Sea Shanty is penalised for a narrow weekend win at Sandown. Richard Hughes still prefers the latter to Trumpet Major while Ayaar and the returning Short Squeeze are others to consider in a typically competitive renewal.

WIN - SEA SHANTY - 4th @ 17.10
EW - ABSEIL -
LONG - RED AVENGER -

A ridic bonkers finale.....Majeyda wasn't disgraced ahead of Lady Lara when sixth in the 1000 Guineas and drops in class. Queen Catrine also has her sights lowered having been well beaten in the French equivalent. The unbeaten Muteela made all at Newmarket last time but is there to be shot at by the likes of Psychometry and Coral Mist. Goodwood winner Wee Jean could also go well but a chance is taken on DUTCH COURAGE. The latter has to reverse latest running at York with Lady Lara but beat Adhwaa, Qawaasem and Midnite Angel to finish fourth and should be in the firing-line. Crowley's Law continues to progress but is upped a further 9lb for a win at Leicester while Aluminia has been making hay in much lower grade races on the all-weather and will find this tougher. Odisseia and Graceful Grit are overseas challengers worth noting.

WIN - MUTEELA - 1st @ 6.0

Absolutely Salivating....

Yes indeed i am as wet as the lady above in anticipation for ROYAL ASCOT next week...yes you can indeed tell Cheltenham to go and royally fuck ones self as this is the week that defines racing ( and glorious goodwood ) ...A week when special things can and do indeed happen, we see more stars than a variety weekend special and just glancing thru the early Ante Post markets makes me feel rather giddy , yes im sure not all will line up but the thought that they might is good enough.....

Lets have a look at the 17th to start with...3 Races to highlight ,

Firstly we have the KINGS STAND STAKES for the sprinters , a brilliant race that always attracts the creme de le creme and this year is no different and with what should be ideal racing ground im very excited.
The top two in the betting are HOT STREAK and SHEA SHEA and both are brilliant, Hot Streak is the up n comer but has already shown some fabulous speed with a 3rd in the Middle Park and a 2nd in the Palace House Stakes and then routing a top quality field in the Temple House Stakes and will have nothing to fear from Pearl Secret or any of those re opposing Hot Streak is one seriously impressive beast and can race on any ground from soft to firm and is in line to become Europes dominant sprinter....very exciting indeed.
Shea Shea has done it all , got the T Shirt and made the video and even at 7 is still a major force to be reckoned with plus has the experience edge as he was a very close 2nd in this very race last year just getting caught on the line by the majestic Sole Power and im sure MDK will have this cherry ripe to run another big big race.
Sole Power himself is a very good sprinter and on his day and with the right conditions can be as good as any in the world...however he does need things to drop right and is prone to throwing a few races away so is not as reliable as a few others and is too short at 7.0.
Maarek is ground dependent and i doubt very much indeed if he will get it and the remainder although toop class Handicappers just dont have that certain   je ne sais quoi that is needed to win a race of this stature and 7 of the last ten running's have seen a single digit winner.
In Summary i wouldn't get too excited about the Ante Post prices at 6.2 as last years went 11/4 > 4/1 then 8/1 Bar but i would have fucking loved some of the 14/1 that was available earlier on Hot Streak and i cant see past the top three in the betting for the winner.

The 2nd race to look at will be the QUEEN ANNE STAKES and here we get to see the return of the king...straight from Sparta itself..its King TORONADO the King whose crown was pinched whilst he was asleep during the Juddmonte a race you can draw a big squiggly line thru as tho it never happened...it was a nothingness...a racing Faux Pas , his true form lay in the race preceding it the Sussex Stakes where he beat the brilliant Dawn Approach , humiliated Declaration of War and pissed all over a group of listed class sorts which was just deserts having been beaten by Dawn Approach in the Guineas and then was given a right old bump n a barge in the St James Palace stakes ( 4th and 2nd )....Hannon will have this spot on and on perfect ground he will take a world of beating but the 2.44 offers fucking zilch ;-(.
Can we look elsewhere...to be honest a case can be made for this being utter folly but there are some lovely types looking to get a race in and they include his stablemates OLYMPIC GLORY now racing over his favored trip on his ideal ground and the other mate Montiridge who is just a rung or two below these Olympic Glory is a best priced 8.8 currently and thats a price i like as i have it in at 6/1 so im getting some juice there, SOFT FALLING RAIN is only interesting at 13.5 ( Paddy Power only offering 7/1 ) and has the form to get involved but if all are racing true to form then it would have to find at least 10lb of improvement...but thats the thing all reviews are generally with the pre conception that everything will be run like a computer made model but the truth is nothing in horse racing is ever that simple ( rarely ) but we must try to stick to some level of reality when making assessments and that's my call although if i see some obvious value elsewhere i will take it.
SKY LANTERN is a filly i just love and should have gone through last year unbeaten ( not including Hong Kong )  as it was mugged by Hot Snap in the Nell Gwynn before winning the 1000 Guineas and the Coronation Stakes and then got chewed by Elusive Kate and dragged across the track before striking right back in the Sun Chariot now im not convinced this will run but if it does or you can get " no run money back " then the 20/1 with Paddy Power is the top price ( 10/1 with Billy Hill ) and a bloody good bet.
In Summary the price on the fav is too skinny and although Olympic Glory is tempting i would wait , the 20/1 on Sky Lantern is def the bet for me Ante Post...thats a cracker...and you can readily forget the rest at this stage.

Race Nos 3 and the final piece of analysis from me tonight is the ST JAMES PALACE STAKES and the 40/1 on the Derby Victor is the bet to have !!!.....Australia at 40/1...smash it !!.....in all honesty this is a ruse as i see no way it runs here as its my view that it will be the Irish Derby Next and then a rest until August with maybe one more run before the Arc.
Seriously this looks a straight dogfight between KINGMAN ( Best priced 11/10 with Skybet / Unibet ) and Night of Thunder who bested him in the 2000 Guineas.
Now its my view that that Night of Thunder got a bit lucky there, got a toe through the race , watched others cut there throats and pounced when it was right and in a true run straight mile with no splits or silliness then Kingman wins as its my opinion that he is the best miler in Europe right now and im struggling to see anything beating him and i will make this my Nap for the week....shovel every penny you can find and lump on i have this priced up at 4/5 so anything odds against in my book is value.
If Karakontie was to take his place then i feel the 65/1 is a bloody good price regardless , ran over his weakest trip lto and duly stuffed but back over a mile where he won the French Guineas this could easily get involved and at that price it becomes a bet to nothing...
In Summary...KINGMAN WINS...NAP OF THE WEEK.

So there we have it the 17th with three hot races covered early doors and a nice treble beckons ?....Hot Streak / Toronado / Kingman.....thoughts ?...answers on a postcard....let me know if you want any other days looking at....;-)..ttfn x.

DERBY DAY

Yes today is that day , the day of Englands Premier Group race and Nos 1 Classic.." The Derby " although in truth for me it has lost its luster in recent years as ive witnessed better races through the season like the Juddmonte , Eclipse  , those at Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood..and not forgetting the season finale that is Champions day....yes coming so early in the season means less anticipation and more perspiration as we use a guess or two to rifle our way through the card and the race itself.

None the less it is still a fascinating race and im sure the winner will go onto great things just like Ruler of the World and Pour Moi...err.hang on , wait a minute...they have done fuck all.....oh yeah i see now..ive just answered all my own questions......
So will there be a beacon of brilliance to light up the shadows that are now cast over this once brilliant race ?..Australia ?...will it stay...its a complete guess although one would expect it be a stayer being by Galileo out of Ouija Board ( Derby / Oaks Winners ) .....please pleas let us see something amazing to carry through the season....

EPSOM CARD >

RACE 1 >
Cracking opening race in the shape of a 1m2f Hcap but a damn tricky one at that as most have a credible chance somewhere.
I must admit i will be " lemming betting " again as i am following Stars Over The Sea until it wins as its my belief that this has every chance of scoring a decent prize  , i just hope it does it before i am broke lol....
Popping back over to the real world GALIZZI looks an improver to follow having lto just failed to catch the runaway winner but was a good 10L clear of the third come the line and this Dansili colt could prove the answer , elsewhere we have AL BUSAYIR who likes to make all and given how well front runners do here if given enough rope he could easily hang this field... and finally you can look at BLACK SHADOW who is a gteed stayer that will love every yard of this having easily won over 1m3f lto and could easily track the front runner and pounce late on.

2. BLACK SHADOW - 2nd @ 10.00

Next up is the Woodcote Stakes a sprint for the 2 yr olds and a pretty decent affair it looks too.
4 of the 9 strong field are lto Winners and i think it will pay to stick with these.
Firstly we have Lightning Stride ridden by " Frank " Spencer and this won well lto albeit over the minimum so this 6f trip will be new territory and how he is going to cope is anyones guess but if i can get a double figure price i will pay to find out.
Second one to mention is Ballymore Castle who is another 5f winner but this looks like it will def stay and could turn into a right ol speedball for team fahey and is another worth noting.
Thirdly we have Red Icon who won really well over this trip lto but that was on soft ground so if it stays firm or good we wont quite know how it will handle conditions but will have a chance regardless and if the rain comes and the ground softens then this would become a strong bet.
Finally we have my current idea of the winner in BAITHA ALGA a horse that won far more easily than it seemed over 6f at Chester lto having travelled real well throughout this was checked and switched then made a run to lead then just kinda won as it liked and this has an awful lot more to offer and with natural improvement it will take a very smart run to lower its colours.

RACE 3 >
Now we move onto the days 2nd big race ..The Coronation Stakes a race over 1m4f which is usually rich in hardened warriors although the Fav seems to have had most run for the hills , the Fav being the enigmatic CIRRUS DES AIGLES a horse that 12 months ago we had all written off as over the hill and gunshot however he has returned with a bang Beating the mega TREVE fto then beating the excellent Olympic Glory now people may clamour and climb over themselves to back this at any price and at anything around Even money its looks an absolute gift...seriously i dont know how this can get beat ?...let me state this , When it beat Treve the field including Treve were either unfit or not good enough for the level and CDA runs very well fresh this is well known and when beating Olympic Glory it was A) Beating a horse that doesnt stay and B) A field that was mostly comprised of shit so the form isnt as strong as it looks at first glance so what if anything do we have to take it on with ??...Well Firstly we have FLINTSHIRE a horse with untapped Potential and a definite improver from the wily Andre Fabre yard a horse not rated far beneath CDA and one that could def give it something to think about.
Secondly we have...TALENT last years Oaks Winner ( makes her a CD winner ) who although never quite ran to that level after is well worth her place and any return to that level of form sees her bang there and finally we have Ambivelent who is not top class but isnt far away and is a horse that will thrive through weakness with the remainder seeming not good enough, too inconsistent or out of form...the problem im having is weighing it all up...as the only real bet here is either a Max BET or a Max LAY on CDA....arguments are solid for either and im not convinced that a decent enough price will be garnered for a LTB because if it looks like its going to win it will do nothing but shorten and will only go out once the writing is on the wall thus nullyifying profit potential and a BTL will harbour similar negative value...so what does one do ??...Well im convinced Fabre knows what is required to beat CDA and im sure he wouldnt have him running in this unless thought good enough....but wait ..whilst typing this im saying to myself " your talking yourself out of a good bet ".....my head states CDA cant be beat , my heart states CDA cant be beat , the stats and current form analysis state that CDA cant be beat but yet i still have this nagging doubt in my head that says LAY......ok ive decided....im gonna LAY it....fuck me...probably regret it but then i will keep stakes nominal and limit any loss and at evens it wont take much winning back...;-PPP)

Morning All , and here we are ready to continue the great card....
RACE 4 >
This is a sprint extraordinaire...." The Dash " 20 runners charging forward in a straight line 5f frenzy....carnage in racing parlance will ensue.
Sprinters by nature take it in turns to win and very rarely will you see you top class sprinters winning consecutive sprints  although they can rattle up a sequence in lower grade affairs but get a group of graded runners together and its all about very fine margins and for this reason im leaving all last time out winners out of the equation....which rather oddly takes just Steps out of the field lol....so where do we go ?...
I think Eton Rifles is better over further , Caspian Prince ( 1st @ 11.80 ) is very interesting as it won over CD a couple of runs back from an ideal draw in 15 and made all that day and again today he is blessed with another top draw in 14 but i have a big concern with him and that is that recent evidence has shown him to falter right at the death and ive a feeling he is just a bit too high in the weights against such quality and although he may run a good race i feel ultimately he will get collared and i will be looking to take this on in running at around 6/4 ( 2.50 ).
JUDGE N JURY has to be put into any dutch bets as this old favourite still has a few wins left in him and has shown recently he still retains plenty of ability and at 34/1 or bigger is well worth a few sheckles.
ELUSIVITY is another knocking on the door and its form that ties in with Top Boy is top class and carrying no weight into this gives it every chance.
New Forest is of interest although this is a tough race for a seasonal debut but the little maestro Oisin could easily draw a bit extra out although the 19.50 is a wee bit tight imo.
Tangerine Trees certainly has the back form and ability to get involved but even for a sprinter this one is nigh on impossible to catch right.
SEEKING MAGIC is one i really like, big field specialist with more form over 6 than 5f but is a multi winner so this is not a problem, not ground dependent , can race on or off the pace and not concerned over split fields my one concern is the strike rate...just 4 wins from 22 starts with 12 places giving a return of 16 faps from 22 races and although this is good it also shows a weakness to killing off a race...My final selection is another im very keen on and that is SWAN SONG another CD winner whose last run can be completely ignored as it missed the break completely and was never involved but is a horse with very definite ability after scoring at Epsom and Chester and with a recorded time of an incredible 54s this is a seriously quick beast so if its on a going day this has a very live chance.

RACE 5 >
Time for the BIG ONE...yes its DERBY time....and the weather is holding and the ground is staying on the quicker side of good.....hmmm....
Well we should start with the BIG BIG talking horse that is AUSTRALIA....yes it has run a couple of nice races with the latest a tough place in the Guineas but for a horse that has been touted as the best ive ever had this would have to be seen as a disappointment...but then Frankel was a brilliant 1m/1m2f horse but may not have been as effective over 1m4f and likewise anything less than 1m2f may not be his optimum so i dont think we can focus too much on the raw speed he showed that day and focus solely on his ability to handle the track/draw and will he stay....Yes he has a perfect draw, his stride suggests he should be fine round the track and on the cambers and he really ought to stay as he is by a Derby winner out of an Oaks winner so if Carlsberg did breeding...............
But this opened at 2.50 and is currently 2.90 after attracting ( on Betfair  ) over £600k of a total pool of £1,073,000 so is obviously well fancied but still a shortie to tackle , if this had run at 2 or won at 3 over 1m4f already then i think we would be looking at a 1/2F...but it hasnt and until it has proven itself i will be taking it on with those that have achieved more ( distance wise ) or just offer better value  ( actual odds not implied ) ..can it win...Yes...will i back it...No....will i lay it...well i have already at 2.5 and will again if it comes in.....
So what can we take it on with ??...well in truth after slating the race a bit in earlier posts ( thru general disappointment ) i have decided that this is actually a much stronger race than it first appeared and it has stepped up in my rankings as i have noted a few that could be potential stars.
KINGSTON HILL is obviously on my radar as one to follow and looks every bit a stayer but my concern is that this is ground dependent and may not show his best on quicker ground so this short riposte will be based around him having soft ground ( if its any quicker than proper good then it can be discounted ) , unbeaten as a juvenile after racking up three very impressive wins with the best being in the Racing Post Trophy this ran below par from a tough draw in the guineas but was staying on well and doing all its best work towards the end and will make into a fine stayer imo but there is still a good amount of guesswork to be considered here and as a 2nd Fav albeit 9.8 i think its just a bit short...at around 16/1 i would be more interested...again this is the balance between its actual adds  versus its Implied odds ( chance of winning versus Value )  in summary it has a solid chance in theory only....and i think there are better bets available.
Similar comments can be applied to TRUE STORY a horse i like very much and even more so after a scintillating victory in the Fielden Stakes but then was massively disappointing in the Dante forget the fact the form was franked by The Grey Gatsby ( went on to win the French Derby ) as i still dont think TGG is proper group class and the French Derby is a race that would rarely get a place at Ascot such is the very odd dirge of opposition, True Story's run was simply too bad to be true as it was being pushed along fully 4f out and i wont have it that this is the form to be believed and im convinced that this will be returning here with a much stronger run and this is backed up by rave reviews from the jockey Fallon who is an old hand around here.
And with a better run expected this time from TS i am expecting the form with Arod to be upheld and this is discounted although a run into a place for Arod is not entirely out of the question but at 22/1 its a no bet as it should be around 40/1 minimum imo.
WESTERN HYMN , FASCINATING ROCK , EBANORAN & ROMSDAL all  come into this with very similar profiles and chances and all are strong candidates.
I feel that Fascinating Rock will be the better over this extended trip ( Versus Ebanoran )  as it was always travelling the stronger , Romsdal will be better for the experience ( proven stayer as showed when just beaten a nose in the Chester Vase over the 1m4f trip )  although the fact Buick has opted for Western Hymn tells its own story and this could easily prove to be a threat to all unbeaten and classy this has a feel of Lammtarra about it and at 18/1 does imo offer some very good value and is well worth a bet.
Finally lets look at the " other " AoB runners as historically ist shown that they quite often do well with their unfancied or less fancied runners and jockey bookings often mean fuck all , First up we have Geoffrey Chaucer a horse although impeded in the closing stages in the Ebanoran race was in the end well held and i think his task is going to be uphill all the way to revers that form , then we have the wonderfully bred Kingfisher who has a live chance for a place at impressive odds and finally we have ORCHESTRA a horse that appeals to me greatly as it is the only horse to have raced and won over this trip so has shown it stays and it stays very well only beat Romsdal a Nose when they clashed but this very lightly raced sort ran green in the closing stages, swagged his head all over, nosed at the crowd and basically did everything wrong in the final 1f but still managed to win now he will improve and he will have learnt from that and this strapping son of Galileo will make them all go all the way to the line and 16/1 is a fair price for a horse that has imo achieved more than its illustrious stablemate.
One final note is dont under estimate Our Chanel at a huge 100/1 this is from one of my bloodlines to follow this campaign and this also won well lto and will improve for the experience and could run a big race at huge odds if things fall into place and others under achieve then you could be rewarded for your bravery .
Stat Notes : Its been 16 years since we have had a winner in double figures ( on the back of four on the trot ).
The most productive Draw range is 4 thru 9 which brings into play the following ,
Pinzolo , Impulsive Moment , Ebanoran , Geoffrey Chaucer , Red Galileo and Sudden Wonder.....some very big priced sorts there to consider for some fun Fapping.....
