Friday Oaks Cont....

I have had to continue the Friday post in a separate post as there was a formatting issue with the last one...grrr..fucking technology....
Actually the main issue now is time so i will jump straight into the Oaks and hopefully be more prepared for tmrw.....

THE OAKS.
Right lets get a crackin , This is a Tremendous looking race this year a race which is the Derby for the Fillies raced over 1m4f and is a true Blue Riband event.
This years renewal looks very tasty with so many coming into this on the back of victories not just in general but in all the big trial races...and for a Classic to have a 5.2 Fav ( Tarfasha ) ..well this tells its own story....you could argue that the make up gives this a feeling of nowt more than a Class 1 Hcap but in truth that is bollocks the fact the Fav is so big is due to the brilliance of the runners not the uncertainty of a star and the fact that the last 3 Winners have been priced at 20/1 tells you something else.....go for the big win and dont be afraid...this is a race to take on the talking types and get stuck into some value.
In the last 11 years we have had 3 winning Favs ( 9/4 , 11/4 & 9/4 ) but we have also had 5 in double figures ( 10/1 , 20/1 , 20/1 , 20/1 & 33/1 )  with the last " Hot " Fav to win was in 1997 Reams of Verse @ 5/6 but she was pretty awesome.

Now this year we have a host of big guns firing out selections with AoB sending out 3 runners in Dazzling , Marvelous and Palace and in no order as it has been proven in years before that AoB is such a fucktard even he doesnt know which is the best of his ( 2012 he had 5 runners and the winner was 20/1 outsider Was ridden by Shamie Hefferman ) and jockey bookings reflect nothing as JoB has been beaten by a stablemate more times than i can remember...and Dazzling @ 50/1 looks interesting fap.

Ralph Beckett is a master trainer for fillies ( decent all rounder but specializes with fillies ) and he has won this race twice in recent years and is double handed today with the highly regarded REGARDEZ and the rapidly improving HONOUR BOUND and both come with chances although i was strongly advised to lump on Regardez lto ( EW ) only to see it fade into 3rd ( nice profit but still well accounted for ) and in truth i think this may stretch her stamina to the hilt as she was flat out over 1m2f lto and although she travelled well i would be hard pressed to suggest a reason as to why she will turn that form around or improve for the step up in trip....has very slim EW chances at best however Honour Bound @ 40/1 makes some mahoosive EW appeal being by Authorized and looks every bit a stayer in the making its two runs this year have seen two Wins over 10 and 11f and on both occasions i feel this was staying on very strongly and pulling away and will love the trip...Madam Chiang , Anipa and Marsh Daisy are also worth considering as EW options.....

RESULT :
TAGHROODA by Sea The Stars WINS very easily...a truly superb run on good ground off a good pace....fantastic , overlooked by me as i felt it needed a bit more experience but boy was i proved thats not always the case , great run and a proper horse.....SP : 6.56 , favourite was Tarfasha who was 2nd and Marvelous  was Unplaced and easily beaten.
