God Morning, Good Morning , Good Morning...

Today is much the same as it has been for the last few days, cold , miserable and cold but a bit of cold thrown in for good measure!, and the racing isnt much better , Forget Kempers today , its a bookies benefit day nonetheless we do have 5 qualifying races today , so lets take a look at these...

RACE 1

Southwell 16:10
Mirror Punters Club Maiden Stakes
£3500.00 added, 3yo plus, 7f, Class 5

..This has to rest between COLOUR GUARD & PROFILE STORM , the 2 newcomers as those that have run look average or worse than average if either of these can run to around 65 they should win , my preference is for the MJ trained Colour Guard as Profile Storms Breeding does suggest that further may be better , the issue i have is  , its a 4 yr old with training issues , however i feel that hes got it fit for a run then off to stud....with this in mind i still feel the dutch is the safest option.

Result :Boom!..Colour Guard wins Easy...
Southwell 4.10Full Result
 1st1 Colour Guard6-4 F
 2nd3 Darsan (IRE)4-1

RACE 2

Wolverhampton 18:10
Punters Package Group Offer Median Auction Maiden Stakes
£2500.00 added, 3-5yo, 5f 216y, Class 6

..PLACE THAT FACE with the both beautiful and talented Hayley Turner riding should win this, has a fair level of form including a fast finishing 2nd lto and should be too sharp for any of the newcomers.

Result : 3rd - HIT 1.04 in the run!!
Wolverhampton 6.10Full Result
 1st2 Sannibel2-1
 2nd4 Lord Paget16-1
 3rd8 Place That Face11-8 F

RACE 3

Dundalk 18:20
Dundalk Maiden
€10000.00 added, 3yo only, 1m

..An interesting race with some choicely bred newcomers namely , MAZARAK & FILATORE , however i feel that ROMAN GENERAL will put his experience to good use and finally get his head in front already racing from a mark of 73 ( which is fair ) one of these newcomers will have to be particularly smart to lower his colours today, but it must also be pointed out that this horse has been beaten at very short odds before ( well beaten 8/13f lto ) , so even tho i think it will win , i will in a rather contradictorily fashion LAY it if i can get a short enough price.

Result : Boom!! 2nd ;-)
Dundalk 6.20
 1st6 Miracle Cure (IRE)2-1
 2nd8 Roman General (IRE)6-4 F
 3rd10 Destiny's Child (GER)66-1

RACE 4

Wolverhampton 19:40
Black Country Median Auction Maiden Stakes
£2500.00 added, 3-5yo, 1m 1f 103y, Class 6

..This is quite a hard race to nail the winner as i have it down as being one of four , 2 x newcomers , Munificence & Halogen and 2 with experience , Captivity and TIME TO DANCE. I make the latter TTD the winner as he will be expected and really should improve past Captivity who himself has proved expensive and untrustworthy , but as i dont have any strong feelings between them i feel the safest option here is to LAY the likely Fav Captivity with a tissue of 10/11 i feel with potentially 3 or 4 others running for you this is the best play here.

Result : Wrong way round lol , nm.
Pos.Dr.Dist.HorseWtJockeyTrainerAgeSP

RACE 5

Dundalk 19:50
Bookings At dundalkstadium.com Maiden
€8000.00 added, 4yo plus, 1m 4f

..To round the day off i think we should play it nice and safe and have a PLACE DUTCH ( GOLD BET )  with DISCOVERY & JOHNNY'S LEGACY , both have CD form and both coming very close to winning , this really should be theres as this actually looks no more than a low level NHF race tbh and i will be very surprised if one of these fails to hit the places , realistically one of these ought to be winning.

Result :Boom!! , 1st & 2nd
Dundalk 7.50
 1st6 Johnnys Legacy (IRE)15-8 F
 2nd11 Discovery Bay2-1
 3rd14 Atmospheric High (IRE)7-2

  3. I've found doing my selections is far easier when I've decided not to bet today!

Has to get really cold for Gloucester to get snow on account of proximity to the Bristol Channel.

Thanks for the music tips too! She's got some good tunes. I definitely enjoy that brand of latin+rhumba/salsa/tango+hip hop meets diva combination.

  4. right you are (as usual!!!) pleased to see Kalahari do it for you earlier - like seeing those Boom!!!! anyway I earned some pounds today doing some work that needed doing and wasn't going to go away without some effort so all is well - just checked my paper selections so far - place backs are pretty sound, first two place lays placed - think the place lay strategy won't work in the short term - it may well in the long term, but that's perhaps something for me to look at later for fun - so place backs are still emerging as a strength - have a good weekend Clint - I'm sure you will! back on Monday
