Morning Race Fans and alike ,
Well what a cracking day in prospect we have with the highlight being the Betfair Chase although i was very disappointed to see the Amlin Chase down to just the two runners, with £50k in prize money inc over £5k just for 3rd then i am shocked to see nothing else entered...great shame for what is a good card.
Yesterday was a success even with the first selection showing nothing we followed it with a good winning Laybet and then my ( unstated ) Nap Win so smiles all round.
Today i will focus my attention on HAYDOCK as this has the most complete card and i will also end the post with a AW Pro Bet >.....so lets see what we have on offer......
RACE 1 : GOLDEN HOOF - EW - ( 6.60 ) - Unplaced ( Disappointing , stone last ).
As expected a tough , competitive start to the day with a 13 runner Hcap hurdle which is split in two halves with the top section well clear on ratings and form worthy of a rating however there is a weight discrepancy of almost 2 Stone from top to bottom which does bring the lightweights right into the reckoning.
QUICK DECISSION is lightly raced and has been a solid improving sort and could well be a lot better than his current mark and the Hobbs yard continues in fine form and T O'Brien is a reliable jock and i have a feeling this will run well , along with this i am also quite keen on HONOUR SYSTEM who comes from the Ferguson /Bloomsfield conveyor belt of quality ex flat horses now in the NH game and this won well enough lto to suggest it could also be going onto bigger and better things however predicting the Ferguson runners has been a hazardous of late so dont be surprised if it wins by 10l or comes stone last.
My final selection and my idea of the Winner is GOLDEN HOOF > from the perpetually in form Hendo' yard and ridden by retained jockey Barry Geraghty this strapping son of Oscar is racing over its ideal trip ( does stay but seems less effective although it may have strengthened further ) and does into this with some decent lower grade form and at this stage i would say this is also as far as he wants opposition wise as he got thrashed last season when upped to class 1 so coming into a class 3 fto seems ideal.

RACE 2 : ROLLING STAR and FAR WEST ( 2.12 / 3.25 ) MAX DUTCH - 1st ( Rolling Star @ 4.10 )
Next up is a smaller field 5 runner event but is none the less competitive with very little separating the field on official ratings however i do both ROLLING STAR and FAR WEST will prove to be different class.
These both met before when thrashed by Our Conor in the JCB ( tbh nothing would have lived with him that day ) and Far West has already proved his worth with a solid 2nd behind the impressive Melodic Rendezvous which imo will give him the edge today in what should prove to be a fascinating duel.
I think the Dutch in this is absolutely NAILED ON and is one of those bets in which i have to empty every wallet i can find into as its my opinion that only an act of god will prevent one of these two winning.

RACE 3 : GORGEHOUS LIEGE - EW- ( 5.30 ) - ( Unplaced ~ And annoyingly Nuts n Bolts was the first on my List today but i talked myself out of it ..GGrr )
Now its marathon time with a 11 runner event over 3m 5f and this is a trip that takes some getting and you cant afford many mistakes here.
And with only LIVELY BARON having any course or distance form this is the obvious place to start and its a shame this comes into this with so-so form as it would be a favoured selection of confidence but over lesser trip this has been weakening very quickly from 2m4f of late and when it hasnt been running poorly its been falling or pulling up so i am leaving this today.
GORGEHOUS LIEGE from the bang in form V Williams yard is my idea of the winner , comes into this in decent form and has been running on over slightly less trips and i feel the trip will be no problem and its jumping has been very good.
MR PHILSON also appeals from the progressive Crawford yard and is open to plenty of improvement and could be upto running an interesting race and finally i think we should have ACE HIGH on our side from the buzzing Pipe yard , this ran a nothing race fto this season however it was bumped and jumped into and never got its stride back and was subsequently virtually pulled up and i would expect a much improved performance now.

And after getting distracted watching Josh Widdicombe Live i now find im running out of time so i will move onto the AW PRO BET >...
1400 LINGFIELD - ARAQELLA - 2nd @ 3.65
&
1435 LINGFIELD - SIR PEDRO - Unplaced
£100 EW DOUBLE ;-)
