Day 2 of GG

Well morning all and yesterday was a rather mixed bag 7 Bets with 4 wins but a loss so not great although i do feel i was a more than a bit unlucky yesterday but hey ho thats the way the dice roll at times and today is a new day.
Today we have 3 qualifying races at Goodwood backed up with another 2 from Redcar so 5 races to aim at today and of course lets not forget the Mighty and Brilliant FRANKEL runs today and will obviously win but with a projected sp of 1/25 is there a bet in that race....we shall discuss.....
Elsewhere a big up ya has to go out to Phelps the human torpedo grabbing his 18th Career Olympic Gold and looking to become the greatest Olympian ever , wow some feat that elsewhere the Team GB medal haul has been rather disappointing this year but was much better expected?.Anyway lets move on the racing before i get too distracted and go into full rant mode....

GOODWOOD 14:35 - 7f Class 1
Now with a good percentage of this field having won over the trip in similar ground types we can gauge a good speed rating from this and the three best in on my speed ratings are GHURAIR , THA'IR and OLYMPIC GLORY now unsurprisingly they fill 1st,2nd and 4th in the betting market but i feel that OLYMPIC GLORY which is aptly named could be the one going for gold today as the 2nd behind Dawn Approach over 6f in the Coventry stakes was superb ( gd ground ) then he beat a strong looking field over 7f in Heavy ground in the superlative stakes which showed his versatility for ground or trip and to be honest looking thru the field and on all known form lines i cannot see the winning coming from outside these three although i do feel that Whippers Boy @ 32.0 represents some great EW value as this has a speed rating not far short of the top three and could place at big odds.
CONCLUSION : I will be dutching the top three in the Win market with a Place only bet on Whippers Boy and a MAX LAY on Maxentius , my over riding thoughts are for the outright winner hmm....Heart wants Tha'ir and Head says Olympic Glory.

GOODWOOD 15:10 -  SUSSEX STAKES  -
What can i say here that you dont know already??....FRANKEL can and will obviously win as he likes but by how far? and what will come second?....In all honesty i think Farhh will get 2nd but with his and Gabriel's speed rating so closely matched i think the 6.8 for Gabriel to get 2nd ( place ) is probably the best bet  in this race as i can see this trading a good bit lower ( 2.0 ) as Frankel will win as he likes but Gabriel will race the arse of Farhh for that elusive 2nd spot and £70k in prize money.
Of course if you have £800k spare then i would suggest lumping the lot into Frankel and make a very quick n easy £40k profit......." if only "......

GOODWOOD 16:20 - 6F Fillies Maiden -
This is an unappetising race and PEARL ICE looks the pick on all known form after splitting a pair of godolphin Horses lto and should probably win however i quite like the look of TARARA @ 48.0 out of a dam who is from Cadeaux Genereaux and son of Royal Applause this very well bred sort looks to have a lot of pace in the blood and could easily run a big race at a fancy price first time up , worth a tickle imo.

14:15 @  REDCAR
The first of two maidens here and the first two races on the card , this is a big field 6f race for 2 yr olds and i think i shall nominate MUHARRIB as a LAY in this race as it is laced with pace and i do actually have a HCE GOLD TIP for this race but is for members eyes only , sorry .

14:50 @ REDCAR
This looks just as hard but for different reasons , this is for 3yr olds + and is over 7f and consists largely of disappointing and under achieving sorts although there are a few big stables on show.
LEGAL BOND looks and races as though the step up trip is badly needed and has been placed on all 3 starts so is showing a good level of consistency and gets the nod here with a place bet my MAX option.
