Yes its another standard winters day and yes i do moan a lot as i am very much a warm weather person , i do not like the cold at all , the numbness in your fingers , the ill at ease feeling , the layers of clothes they all drive me mad , i would however feel a lot better if i had a glorious open fire to be near so the plan is, next house has huge fireplace as its nigh on impossible to stay warm in this 3 storey house of mine...
Onto todays racing ( No Friday rants until next year ) we have 3 meets with a quality Cheltenham card all backed up with the usual friday card what shall i produce for the masses today?? , i know like Rob Waterhouse likes a go with Wolves on Friday so i shall do the usual and try to nail him a few winners or some winnings , but for the daytime punters n players i am going to rather foolishly attempt to break a stupidly tough Cheltenham down , lets get one thing straight from the get go..i am expecting a loss here so follow at your own peril as will be trying to eek out value bets , its gonna be tough but i need the challenge ;-)
CHELTENHAM
RACE 1
WIN - BROADBACKBOB -
EW - HILDISVINI -
LONG - FORGOTTEN GOLD - 2nd @ 12.30
*Very tough race to start the card off and with only two places on offer i have erred on the side of caution and Broadbackbob had to go first as this is very classy and simply cannot be overlooked and it would be folly trying to go against it , of the remainder it fairly wide open..so i can only hope.

EW - VALLEY VIEW -
LONG - PLEIN POUVOIR - 1st @ 17.60
*Another toughy but expected and i have gon for a mixture of ratings and jockey selection , this race has used no skill , all stats and data with some guessing so its in the hands of the racing gods as to whether or not i get thru here...

* Wide open lol again and any one of about 10 runners has a solid chance and a case in the minimum can be made for just about all...oh my...i could be in for a spanking here , starting to wish i had not bothered lol...
***Both the winner and 2nd ( Dark Lover & Open Day ) were on my list and they both were only millimetres away from getting on the selection list , i am disappointed truth be told but i had to make a decision and i ended up with best placed 5th...cruel..but thats the game at times..**

LONG - MASTER OVERSEER - ( NOT INCLUDED IN PP ) - 1ST @ 12.2 ( WHAT A SUPER SUB!! ,-) )
*Midnight Chase has had just 26 runs with 12 wins including 5 of them here at Cheltenham and qualifies as a course specialist and although he is giving lumps of weight away i think the run lto behind Silviano Conti confirmed his well being and with that under his belt i think he will simply be too good and confident around here and against considerably weaker opposition , i will be shocked to the britches if this doesnt place ( i have lumped the place and smaller win ) , Bradley is well regarded and could also run a big race followed by the hat trick seeking Quartz' who is stepping up in grade but looks an improving sort and the stone plus he gets makes him interesting.**MIDNIGHT CHASE - ( NAP ) - Withdrawn**

WIN - UNCLE JUNIOR - ( NB ) - FELL
EW - BOSTONS ANGEL - 2nd @ 9.89
LONG - ARABELLA BOY - FELL
*Another runner where the phrase " horses for courses " is apt as Junior has shown several times he loves it round here over these very unique fences and this unique course ( the x country ) and i expect this to run another very big race as it is the undoubted class in the field.

LONG - CROSS KENNON -
*This will be a slog , a hard fought battle all the way round and i only want proven stamina on my side and horses that have already shown a liking for the trip and ground and a few of the more fancied runners are over looked on that basis, could see a shock in this one.
