Irish Derby Day

Good Morning All ( yes it still is ) well ive been a busy ol bee this morning checking thru all todays cards trying to find today's Stat Lays and rather Incredibly we have 15 for today...YES 15!!....Yet after hitting the last month with an incredible strike rate of almost 97% the last four days have seen some amazing turn arounds , firstly i did slightly tweak the data required to get in as a Stat Lay but not by so much i thought it would have any significant impact but how wrong could i have been because in the last few days i have had a total of 34 STAT LAYS that have returned an astonishing 17 WINNERS !!! ( 5 were Alternates but still Stat Lays )....that is an incredible 50%!!!!....Now either this is an incredible statistical anomaly or i have accidentally found an incred way to find winners???!!!...so what i shall do today is NOT lay any of them and instead i am going to have 2 Acca's ( 15 selections ) including 4 folds and 5 folds and see if this works , just smallish stakes tho as it could well be that the last few days have just been a complete fluke , but this has proven to be very interesting..so for the remainder of this month i will continue in the same vein and start next month on two different platforms using the tweaked data for back bets and the old data for lay bets to level stakes ( will include some multi action on the back bets , but this will be explained in good time )....but really 50 fucking per cent.....could this really be just a fluke or has Jason found the Fleece?

**@ 17:02 we have so far managed 6 winners from 10 Stat races...fucking amazing scenes!!!..

The last week in general was quite dismal for racing tbh and i shall not dwell on it instead i will look forward to today and a cracking day it looks, with The Irish Derby from the curragh supported with 2 or 3 decent looking races , Newmarket and Newcastle hold good looking cards with some tasty races although Newcastle is cutting up soft and i shall take it easy there as it can be a nightmare when the ground goes soft as the formbook is by n large thrown out of the window!! , we also have the rather quirky Chester which again is being well supported by its patron the great " DR " and finally we have the wonderful Windsor so there is plenty for everyone and not a NH race in sight ( Mullers will be pulling his hair out )....

Todays Max Card and Place Pot punt will be for NEWMARKET as this is usually well attended and has the right type of fields to attack , so without further ado lets crack on...Good Luck ;)

NEWMARKET

RACE 1
WIN - FIG ROLL - 1st @ 3.67
EW - MAJEYDA -
LONG - SUNNY HARBOUR -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY :A tough looking 6f Listed event for 2yr old fillies with 12 runners and this looks quite wide open with most looking as likely contenders however it is my job to try and narrow the field and we do have two obvious contenders for different reasons , firstly we have the outstanding form choice which is FIG ROLL who ran a cracker lto in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot coming in 4th behind the highly regarded and very useful Rizeena and this is easily the best form on offer and a similar run wins this race simple as that plus the fact she looks to be in desperate need of this extra furlong has the ground to suit and Hughsey riding...this one does tick all the boxes and i cannot see this running unplaced.
Secondly we have the " Potential " from MAJEYDA from Godolphin a horse that hasnt achieved a great deal ( 2 runs ) but won  ( i should say hosed up ) its maiden by nearly 5L in emphatic style although it didnt beat much tbf however this is an obvious improver and if Fig Roll fails then this has every chance of stepping up.
I dont really have any big outsider for this race as Sunny Harbour is the only other one to interest me and that is the 3rd fav , so its an obvious race with obvious selections but it would be folly imo to go against them.
NOTES : Only WIN/EW for PP -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RACE 2
WIN - HARRIS TWEED -
EW - IM YOUR MAN -
LONG - LOST IN THE MOMENT - 1st @ 6.70
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY :Next up is a small field 1m4f race for the older generation and its a very tight affair indeed as its impossible to rule any of the 5 out , all have been disappointing, all could improve , all have the ability to win , i know this is a just a 5 runner race but i have to get 3 in here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOTES :If there is any significant rain then i would be quite sweet on Harris Tweed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RACE 3
WIN - PRODUCER - 1st @ 3.80
EW - RED JAZZ - 2nd @ 14.0
LONG - PASTORAL PLAYER - 3rd @ 5.10
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY :Now its the Criterion a 7f Group 3 for 3+yr olds and this is another trappy one although Libranno ( the winner last two years ) looks a shadow of its former self and can be easily dismissed.
This is a race in truth that just stinks of disappointment with the whole field being mostly under achievers or let downs and its a case of which of this shit lot is the least shittest..

NOTES :

RACE 4
WIN - NABUCCO - 1st @ 3.60
EW - FORGOTTEN HERO -
LONG - COME ON BLUE CHIP -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY :Now its a nice looking Hcap over 1m2f with 11 runners , competitive indeed but not a complete pin fest......what am i fucking saying!!...total bollocks, this is a nightmare for the place pot as its just too wide open.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOTES :

RACE 5
WIN - MAN AMONGST MEN - ( NAP ) - UN-FUCKING-PLACED
EW -
LONG -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY :A maiden now but one with great Interest as them magnificent Sea The Stars has another Juvenile runner in Sea The Skies however i have been rather underwhelmed with her lot so far so will just have a watching brief on this one , i have herad some very good reports for Squire and this could also be a bit special but they will have to post a very good fto rating of at least 86 to beat MAN AMONGST MEN as this ran in the same race as Royal Ascot winner Berkshire when 2nd and 3rd behind the highly regarded Championship and that is stand out form and this should not be opposed , unless that run was a freak ( and i very much doubt it ) the horse that beats MAM will almost certainly be group/listed class and quite frankly having Juveniles race to anything above 85 fto is as rare as Snow Thunder.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOTES :Ran an absolute shocker, very very poor effort and completely ruined my Placepot ;(((
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RACE 6
WIN - MAMA QUILLA -
EW - ABILENE -
LONG -
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY :We finish off with a small field Hcap with a couple i like here in ABILENE and MAMA QUILLA so that will do for my Place Pot.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOTES :
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

All in all this looked a lot easier at first glance however we have at least 3 races im nigh on 100% about a 4th in which im very confident in and a fifth which im more than hopeful it is Race 4 im most worried about but still feel i have a strong hand in this however i will need one or two favs to blow out to boost the payout because if this goes to form then its going to be an lowish Pool..but with less lines im still thinking its profit in the bag ;).

Elsewhere.....

Jack Dexter - 1ST @ 1.99 should be max lump along with Intensified - 2nd @ 1.21 for a MAX DOUBLE.- Fucking Irish racing is a joke, i shall not be going back...EVER!!.

RULER OF THE WORLD WILL WIN ( Famous last words ) the Irish Derby as this rarely goes against form and i see no obvious reasons for any form turn arounds although Libetarian should appreciate this easier track however this was getting pushed along 2f out at Epsom and i have a sneaky feeling that was running through beaten horses and im not convinced the Derby form is that good in general.

MONEY TEAM at 12.5 looks far too big as this has cracking form and won its 5f race in a sub 1m time which for an inexperienced horse is very good indeed and Turner is a dab hand with these young sprinters and i think the players have under estimated this or are just trying to smash into Salford Red Devil and that is pushing the whole market out either way this has nailed on BTL written all over it but is also a good stand alone EW bet....now i just need to find something to double it with. - Unplaced but ran well at 12.0 hitting 4.0 in the run for a good BTL profit, but i lost it back on the Fap..som evens there.

And finally to round my musings off i think i should include CLOWANCE ESTATEwith two runs and two Wins under its belt looks to be a rapidly improving sort and is well worth following.-

ROYAL ASCOT ~ DAY 5 ~

And here we are , the end is nigh , ...and so the song goes , Day 5 , the Final day of what has been a glorious week for Racing and of Racing with a plethora of wonderful performances, scintillating finishes, gritty battles and bursts of speed it has been a wonderful week , Lady Cecil grabbed a winner, the Queen poached the 2 miler and Wesley Ward made the trip worthwhile...excellent stuff.

Day 4 had its own piece of magic in the shape of SKY LANTERN who i touted pre season to be the beez neez only to see my  words of grandeur destroyed when it got comfortably beaten fto then i deserted it when it hacked up in the Guineas and i didnt have as much on as i should have due to me also backing Just the Judge...but wow what a run and what a burst of speed to kill the race off!!...simply fantastic and Kiyoshi.....also another great run and win for the blog cracking stuff and this was still very green so a lot more to come from this.

The Irish tasted yet more success but not with the one horse who i fancied to bolt up ( Battle of Marengo ) but with Leading Light for AoB the SoB ruining the Disclaimer / Cecil party ( which tbf 2f out looked in the bag as it was cruising then just emptied ) but the victory was a very good one and this could be a touch special.

Day 5 and its wind down time but i would like to go out on a high and i would like another taste of the Placepot Pie...so without further ado i shall cast my eye over the Ascot card for the final time this week c'mon all lets smash it !! ;).

ROYAL ASCOT ~ DAY 5 ~

RACE 1

Chesham Stakes

WIN - FREEDOM SQUARE -
EW - BUNKER - 2nd @ 3.72
LONG - BERKSHIRE - 1st @ 23.0
_____________________________________________________________
SUMMARY :This is a tough race for 2 yr olds so early on , a 7f  test that for the last 2 years has been one by a couple of very decent sorts that progressed but previously had been won by horses ranging between 11/10 and 25/1 with no real set pattern although i feel getting a view from the paddock will make this task easier , but without such aides i am going to have to go what i know , Johnston , Godolphin and AoB all arrive mob handed and look intent on taking this prize back with them but even from there 6 entries between them i dont see the winner.
The three i want fighting for me are FREEDOM SQUARE a good looking son of Lawman that has raced over 5f , 6f and 7f already winning the 6f Maiden quite cosily but prior to that run had run in a 7f Maiden and was only beaten a shorthead and a neck so in theoretically you could say it has won its last two and is a proven winner ( almost ) over this trip which is a major plus with stamina assured, speed of the plate and a good battling attitude this is almost the perfect 2 yr old and a big run is assured.
The 2nd defender i will have is BUNKER from the formidable Hannon/Hughes team and this son of Hurrican Run was a bit green fto hitting flat spots then running on really strong at the end and winning quite easy it must be said and this looked liked it was already needing this step up in trip and should go well.
Finally i will have BERKSHIRE from the Cole outfit and this son of Mount Nelson ran in what i consider to be quite a hot maiden fto coming home in 3rd but far from disgraced with the form looking strong although the winner Championship went off near to Fav for the Coventry and doing little there is no doubt that Championship is a very smart prospect and there will be more to come from that and with improvement assured i feel Berkshire can run into a place or better and very decent odds.

RACE 2

Hardwicke Stakes

WIN - EKTIHAAM - Slipped and unseated rider -
EW - UNIVERSAL - 3rd @ 13.42
LONG - DANDINO - 2nd @ 17.40
_____________________________________________________________
SUMMARY :Over the last 5 years this race has gone to the favourite or near favourite and has been won by some classic types in Harbinger and Sea Moon and has been kind to me over the years so im expecting to nail the winner of this.
I love Noble Mission but it only just gets this trip and i mean just as come the line it will be on its last breath and this is so much a stronger race than the one it got beat in and the one it won that i give this no chance at all today and is reluctantly written off.
Th confusing aspect of this race is the form, MOUNT ATHOS for me HAS to be a LAY @ 3.75 ( Fav ) yes it comes here in winning form but looking at the form and the manor of the victories it doesnt really amount to much , yes it won some nicely titled races but again has beaten either vastly inferior opposition or has beaten horse running above their pay grade and a lot of dire hcappers tbh so i dont think the form is really worth the paper its written on ( famous last words ) and with this being at least 3 grades higher in respect of opposition it simply has to be laid.
Similar comments can be applied to Sir John Hawkswood who arrives on the back of a couple of decent wins but beat little more than decent Hcappers again and the form doesnt really add up to much given the context of the race.
EKTIHAAM however has much stronger looking form even judged by its lto victory when beating Thomas Chippendale ( runs here ) , Main Sequence , Number Theory and Highland Castle over 1m4f in the Buckhounds Stakes here at Ascot making this a CD winner and that can prove vital at the quintessential track and for me looks the likeliest winner.
I also see UNIVERSAL getting involved in the finish as this strapping galloper has improved no end and has beaten Noble Mission last two times they have met and has earned his place at the table and will make them all go.
Finally we shall have the admirably tough Dandino who on the face of it has a few pounds to find but will exploit any weakness in any runner and if it goes for him he could surprise.
_____________________________________________________________
NOTES :Ektihaam slipped up whilst in front and making the pace , but my MAX LAY on Mount Athos was easy money ;).

RACE 3

Diamond Jubilee Stakes

WIN - SOCIETY ROCK - 2nd @ 5.50
EW - SLADE POWER -
LONG - MINCE -
_____________________________________________________________
SUMMARY :For me this is THE sprint race of the week with a lot of battle hardened veterans taking on each other for the umpteenth time mixed with some new faces and some improvers this is a true test and was won last year by the brilliant Black Caviar...but only just.
Fallon has left his usual ride ( Krypton Factor ) to take the seat aboard SOCIETY ROCK and this is the one to beat by some way, all class, bags of speed, can race on or off and can be switched for position this is a slightly injury prone superstar and it will take a wonder performance to lower his colours.
SLADE POWER is also worth a mention as this speed demon can mix it with the best of them and if on a going day can easily take a hand and even win , this is a very quick horse.
And i will not be leaving my beloved MINCE out this little beaut is a class act and is true group class at best but has been a bit disappointing this term with a couple of runs lacking the usual sparkle but if running back to form can easily mix it up and get her head in front.
_____________________________________________________________
NOTES :Poor ride imo from Fallon and Mince looks a spent force.

RACE 4

Wokingham Stakes

WIN - REX IMPERATOR -
EW - NOCTURN -
LONG - SHROPSHIRE / YORK GLORY - 2nd @ 17.0 / 1st @ 17.6
_____________________________________________________________
SUMMARY :29 RUNNERS , 6F AND ITS A HCAP.....Nothing much else to say really...
Last year's shock winner Dandy Man was drawn 15 with four of the five who followed him home drawn middle to high. Epsom Dash winner Duke Of Firenze could hardly have a better stalls position and with just a 4lb rise to contend with has to be in the firing line, a remark that also applies to Rex Imperator, who travelled smoothly throughout over 7f at Doncaster last time but faded close home. Gabrial's Lad is closely matched with the likely favourite on their run here last October though both have undoubtedly improved subsequently. The latter made a really nice comeback behind Hamza at Newmarket and that form has worked out very well. YORK GLORY looks capable of winning a race of this nature and was probably unlucky not to have beaten Kingsgate Choice at York last time when Duke Of Firenze was fifth. Kevin Ryan's charge wouldn't want the ground too fast so any further rain would greatly aid his chances and he's handed the verdict. Nocturn is drawn near the middle but should have no problems crossing to the far side and he's a rapidly improving sprinter on a very fair mark.

Duke Of Edinburgh Handicap

WIN - RYE HOUSE - NON RUNNER - ( 2nd for the placepot )
EW - HAMMERFEST -
LONG - USTURA - 3rd @ 9.40
_____________________________________________________________
SUMMARY :A 19 runner Hcap over 1m4f and this is another tough as teak race to call but i am quite keen on RYE HOUSE yes im aware its been raised 9lb for a very lto win over the trip and yes it has shown better figures on ground with a degree of cut but i have a feeling this has been specifically laid out for this and im expecting a very big run.
HAMMERFEST could be a blot for Monsieur Hammond and Jim Crowley along with USTURA who is improving with experience and is another coming into this on a low mark of just 92 and will get every assistance from SDS.

Queen Alexandra Stakes

WIN - COURTESY CALL -
EW - SHAHWARDI - 2nd @ 5.0
LONG - MASHAARI -
_____________________________________________________________

**16 Lines on the Place Pot hit @ £844 = £3380.00 BoooooM ;)

SUMMARY :The final race of this brilliant meeting and its a 2m5f marathon trip contested by a mind boggling 20 runners ( after the other couple of long distance races i was unaware we had such a array of stayers ).
It is fair to say this is probably the lowest classed event of the week , the weakest looking race and its full of NH types although if he consents to run then Mad Moose might be worth a tickle at decent odds.
The winner in a more realistic fashion tho should be COURTESY CALL from the same yard that gave me todays monster boom team Henderson and i have been reliably informed that this is another that comes here in great heart and will give a solid account but really can he make it 3 from 3 at Ascot??....i may as well have a go , i have nothing to lose.
I am also expecting a good run from SHAHWARDI the french raider was 2nd to Simenon in this last year and this will have been its year target and will have been trained and prepped just for this and is sure to go close.

Royal Ascot ~ DAY 4 ~

 Yes here we are already...how time flies when your having fun!!..Day 4 already and it has been a wow week this year with some astonishing finishes, great rides and wonderful performances can we finish on a high?...

Day 3 highlights.....well i can sum this up in one word ESTIMATE my banker for the day did prove it could stay and won well at 5.50 and i had a very productive day with both PPL and the STAT LAYS with 100% on both ;).
 Dont forget if you want to make solid consistent profits then Join the PPL revolution @
Onto Day 4 and will it be the Ghost of Frankel showing up??...what am i saying?..well JOYEUSE ( Frankel's Sister ) is racing in the opening race and looks to have an outstanding chance and it could be one of those " fate " coincidence bets / races that lands as they so often do and i for one will be cheering it on.
                                              ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ROYAL ASCOT ~ DAY 4 ~
RACE 1
Albany Stakes
WIN - SANDIVA - 2nd @ 2.89
EW - KIYOSHI - 1st @ 8.91
LONG - JOYEUSE - 3rd @ 8.06
____________________________________________________________
SUMMARY : A brilliantly tough race to start the day off with with the ALBANY STAKES over 6f for 2yr olds and we have a line up of fully 20 runners making this another track splitting challenge and is another that will require a degree of both luck and skill although for the analysts im thinking more luck than skill is needed.
I will start off with the chances of my main selection JOYEUSE a sister to the mighty Frankel and holding some decent form in her own right having destroyed the opposition in its maiden winning by a heavily eased down 3L and never off the bridle although admittedly those she beat have done little to enhance the form so perhaps my heart is ruling my head because the form is telling me that its got about 9LB min to find and realistically will have to run at least 12lb better to win this but this is not out of the question..fingers crossed.
SANDIVA for me is the form choice and the one they all have to beat after a very good run at Naas when winning the Coolmore Fillies Listed event and its the form level that every other horse has to aspire to as nothing less will do.
KIYOSHI has to get a mention as it won its last race in a very quick time beating a couple of solid yardsticks and with improvement assured simply has to be involved in the finish and as for the remainder...well honestly you could throw a blanket over the field and take your best guess as i have about 12 of them all within a nose of each other...good luck.#
King Edward VII Stakes
WIN - BATTLE OF MARENGO - ( NAP ) - 2nd @ 2.16
EW - THA'IR -
LONG - MUTASHEDED - 3rd @ 6.91
____________________________________________________________
SUMMARY :A fantastic and intriguing renewal of this great race and its a field full of " nearly " horses , those that aspired to win derbies and go onto greatness, those that promised so much only to fail when push come to shove, those that had more hype than substance....well now its their time to shine, time to get some much alluded black type and improve their status among the elite , this is their day.
Now this is a puzzle +2 because a decent case can be made for almost in fairness but i will start with what i think is the most likely winner based on form and the current jolly and that is BATTLE OF MARENGO who ran such a gallant race in defeat in the Derby going down just a few Lengths in 4th after hitting two flat spots but just couldnt muster enough off the bridle to stay in front and lost two spots at the death so with that and a small rest i feel this is the one they have to beat but he is beatable.
The first of the challengers has to be THA'IR although he currently looks tripless and its anyones guess as to what the outcome will be with this and the seasonal reappearance of MUTASHADED also holds more questions than answers as this could be literally anything and the remainder look exposed or held on form.
RACE 3
Coronation Stakes
WIN - VIZTORIA -
EW - JUST THE JUDGE - 3rd @ 7.46
LONG - SKY LANTERN - 1st @ 5.96
____________________________________________________________
SUMMARY :A cracking race for 3 yr olds that has been previously won by some very decent animals in the past and is usually won by one that has that x-factor and the three that interest the most are SKY LANTERN , JUST THE JUDGE and VIZTORIA with the latter probably having the most scope and with the two former 1000 Guinea enemies having shitty draws this could prove to be Viztorias day , however you rule the other two off at your peril and i think the remainder will have to put in lung busting PB's to get anywhere near these and i also feel the current 12.5 should be snapped up ( on Viztoria ) as i simply cant see this staying in double figures come the off..that is surely bookie suicide...
Wolferton Handicap
WIN - DICK DOUGHTYWYLIE -
EW - ALBASHARAH -
LONG - GENZY ( My Favourite EW bet today ) - ALL UNPLACED ( but i dont care now....;) )
____________________________________________________________
SUMMARY : This is a tough race to get anything from , 1m 2f Hcap for 4+ Yr olds because most of the field either have some form, have had some form or could improve enough to get involved this is not the type of Hcap Prescott can land a coup in.
ALBASHARAH is the one with the most scope in this field, unbeaten and won well lto although both ground and opposition is a negative and a opening Hcap mark of 104 looks high enough.
DICK DOUGHTYWYLIE had run the mighy Al Khazeem to with 6L lto and that on the balance of things looks outstanding and a run to a similar level has to put him in the mix , highly tried on all runs this drop into Hcap company can see him get his head in front.
GENZY will go off at big double figure odds but has been placed in his last three runs and all in Listed class and is no back number and looks a very good EW bet , ( only beaten 4L by Noble Mission and 2L by Miblish ).
Queen's Vase In Memory Of Sir Henry Cecil
WIN - DISCLAIMER -
EW - BAIHAS -
LONG - RAY WARD -
SUMMARY :Fantastically named race in honor of the great man and the roof will be lifted not only off the Grandstand but probably every house within a 5 mile radius of the Berkshire track if the Brilliant DISCLAIMER wins for Lady Cecil ( her late husband was Sir Henry whom this race is named after ) , and this has an absolutely fantastic chance after winning all 3 of its races this season , this son of Dansili is a relentless galloper and can hopefully grind these into submission , i dont want to discuss any others as i really want Lady Cecil to win this for Sir Henry. x.
RACE 6
Buckingham Palace Stakes
WIN - EMILIO LARGO -
EW - ENROL / HIGHLAND COLORI -
LONG - SMARTY SOCKS -
____________________________________________________________
SUMMARY :And we round of the day with a race so typical of this years Festival a ludicrously tough 29 runner Hcap Dash n Splash over 7f..
Santefisio, Prince Of Johanne and Es Que Love all contested the Royal Hunt Cup on Wednesday and are bidding for quick compensation but others make more appeal. Enrol is sure to be popular as she'd won three in a row prior to going down by a nose to Nocturn over 6f at Newmarket. She was staying on well that day and the extra furlong won't be a problem. Highland Colori has a decent record in these big handicaps and was impressive when getting back to winning ways at Newmarket while Bertiewhittle was only beaten half-a-length over course and distance in the Victoria Cup last month and had a number of these in arrears. One of those was LIGHTNING CLOUD but Kevin Ryan's grey probably saw too much daylight and can be forgiven that effort. He definitely has the ability to win one of these off his current mark and today could be his day drawn right up against the stands' rail, though there are plenty of dangers. Ascot fourth Emilio Largo can reverse that running with Democretes as he looks as though he's been laid out for this while none of David O'Meara's quintet can be left out of calculations. Mont Ras, partnered by Joseph O'Brien, may be the pick of them. Jamesie and Johnny Murtagh's Campanology also go on the short-list.
Ascot Day 3 ~
.Well its shattering stuff all the is reviewing, then updating , then posting , then trading , then updating....by 6pm my head is just spinning!!..so what better way to chill out than with some Desperado's ;) and im trying these new REDS and they have some kick i tell thee...but its a bit odd i feel as it doesnt know whether or not it wants to be a lager or a cider....but its lush regardless...
Summary from Day 2....well as expected it was a no show on the Placepot after a cracking first three races with 4 lines running and 2 winners from 3 races..i was bouyant however i was soon to be deflated as i had not even a sniff in the 4th even with 4 running for me...overall performance on the day was..sufficient , nothing special , no big wins although i did have a nice double with Duntle and Al Khazeem but that was only to offset my loss with laying Duntle and that kinda summed up the day for me, made a few quid, lost a few quid and come out slightly down on the day but again this was offset with better than expected profits from Hamilton which were blighted with losses from Uttoxeter...see the pattern here , Weds was a day of contrasts, won £500 then lost £501 ...etc etc....so not bothering with the evening meetings although i do have 1 remaining PPL race which i am keeping a beedy eye on as that has only made £28.00 Profit thus far even tho both races were winners one of the selections didnt get price matched which bit a little..
Performance of the day has to go to.....Jack Doyle for riding an Ascot Treble including the simply superb ride on Al Khazeem a horse that is going places unlike Camelot who imo should be retired with immediate effect as this is a horse shot to bits.
Well we slowly slip into Day 3 and it looks to get no easier how ever i do feel i can smash this PP today so will be going in hard ( ooo eerrr ) ;).
ASCOT DAY 3
RACE 1
Norfolk Stakes (Group 2)
WIN - COACH HOUSE - ( EW NAP ) - 2nd @ 3.50
EW - SAAYERR -
LONG - EMIRATES FLYER -
_______________________________________________________________
SUMMARY : Cracking top quality race to open day 3 a nice 5f sprint for the 2 yr olds and it looks set to be a cracker with some very well thought , highly regarded types about and a few with some very tasty form but none more so than COACH HOUSE who hosed up in the Listed ( class 1 ) Marble Hall stakes at the Curragh lto and that form alone is head and shoulders above anything else on offer and a repeat would probably suffice although its not without question that one of many could show further improvement and possibly cause a minor upset but i would rather be backing a horse that has done it rather than one that might do it...and even at a skinny looking 4.2 i think this is a fantastic bet.
Dangers?..yeah there are plenty , throw a blanket and see where it lands....
_______________________________________________________________
Notes : Coach House ran well but the speed from the USA horse was scintillating and then to stay on when passed was fantastic.
_______________________________________________________________
RACE 2
Ribblesdale Stakes (Fillies' Group 2)
WIN - WINSILI - 4th
EW - FERSAH -
LONG - WALIA - ~ ALL UNPLACED ~
_______________________________________________________________
SUMMARY : This is a solid Race for 3 yr olds over 1m4f that has been won in the past by some very good animals indeed however this year it looks rather weak with some horses i wouldnt have expected to see here today ( or any other ).
There are 3 in this race however which for me stand out and they are THE LARK who has run 3rd in both outings this term including lto in the Oaks and with a clearer run would have surely got nearer or even won and with a clear passage is gteed to be involved in the finish here, Closely tied in with The Lark is my second choice WINSILI and i doubt there will be much between these two today as Winsili had early finished ahead of The Lark but both have improved and this is the duel but between these two fractious beast we will also see WALIA coming into the reckoning on the back of a good Maiden victory but this will need to improve but this is almost gteed and this looks the improving sort that Stoute does so well with and Fallon could get a good ol tune out of this.
_______________________________________________________________
Notes : ** The Lark is now a NON RUNNER ** -  This like a couple of others today fell apart with the non runners , Riposte the other Dansili offspring ran on well to win.
_______________________________________________________________
RACE 3
Gold Cup (British Champions Series) (Group 1)
WIN - ESTIMATE - 1st @ 5.30
EW - HIGH JINX - NON RUNNER -
LONG - RITE OF PASSAGE - NON RUNNER -
_______________________________________________________________
SUMMARY :Now its time for the creme de la creme for the stayers over this marathon 2m4f trip and " IF " ESTIMATE stays this trip fully its game over as she wont be beaten but you have to take any bet on trust but the way she has been winning over 2m here when winning the Queens Vase last year and the Sagaro Stakes this year leads me to believe she will stay and i will be having a good go on this.
 RITE OF PASSAGE also has to come into the reckoning as its been laid out for this and if fully wound up will make them all go a bit along with all the confirmed stayers from the NH game with the likes of Aim to Prosper , Simneon and Saddlers Rock all of whom will be trying to make this as big a test as possible in the hope of out staying there weaker flat rivals but the " Blot " here could well be HIGH JINX who has some bloody good form in races with trips ranging from 1m4f - 2m3f and will stay for sure and could sneak up and take this.
_______________________________________________________________
Notes : Bit of a non event for me now ;( - Great run and win for me ;)...
_______________________________________________________________
RACE 4
Britannia Stakes
WIN - CAPE PERON -
EW - WENTWORTH / SEA SHANTY - 4th @ 5.40
LONG - SHEBEBI / MAPUTO -
_______________________________________________________________
SUMMARY : 1m , 3 yr olds and a 30 runner field , yes we delve back into the realm of the ridic and i will be having five yes FIVE placepot selections here in a race that will play out like something from the charge of the light brigade!!.
_______________________________________________________________
Notes :
_______________________________________________________________
RACE 5
Tercentenary Stakes
WIN - SHIRKAPOUR - 2nd @ 9.68
EW - INDIAN CHIEF -
LONG - KITTEN ON THE RUN -
_______________________________________________________________
SUMMARY : Another race for the 3 yr olds but this time over a more specialized 1m2f and with a decent field of 12 that is full of form, improvers and well a few with some class this will be a good race, so where do i start?, well firstly i feel SHIRKAPOUR will take some beating today as its 5th in the French Derby was only its 2nd run and that form on its own puts it in the van and with some improvement this could prove a tough nut to crack but INDIAN CHIEF comes into this and the reckoning on the back of some solid efforts including a narrow defeat lto to Subsequent Derby 3rd Libertarian which is rock and is sure to make a good fist of it.
Finally i think we should have KITTEN ON THE RUN on our side as this will have benefited greatly from its debut run and could be absolutely anything and shouldnt be under estimated coming from the wily ol' fox that is Cumani.
_______________________________________________________________
Notes :
_______________________________________________________________
RACE 6
King George V Stakes
WIN - BOLD SNIPER - 3rd @ 5.56
EW - ESHTIAAL -
LONG - RED RUNAWAY -
_______________________________________________________________
SUMMARY : Finally we round off the day with a typically competitive race a 19 runner 1m4f Hcap where tactics, position and the ability to do one of two things will be of the utmost importance..1) be able to run, lead from the front and be able able to quicken off the pace you have followed or made and 2) be able to come off the pace and charge at the leaders mowing them down in the straight.
_______________________________________________________________
Notes :
_______________________________________________________________
Well this looks another tough day but a good bit easier than yesterday with solid betting options and the placepot looks ripe for the taking....My big Bet here will be ...
MAX EW TRIXIE
1. COACH HOUSE - 2nd
2. THE LARK - NR -
3. ESTIMATE - 1ST          = £170.75 Profit
Good Luck.
Royal Ascot ~ Day 2 ~
The finish of the day on day 1 was easily the above battle between Toronado and the winner DAWN APPROACH ( blue ) and was a good winner for me after the fail and disappointment of Animal Kingdom however with 6 races on the card we hit 6 x 2nd's making me bridesmaid of the day!!..on the upside i did scoop the placepot for a wallet busting £1200.00 yesterday which was very nice and in 3 from the 6 races i hit 2 places in each giving me the boost required and will keep that in profit all week regardless ;).
Can we keep up the good work from day 1 or will i fall flat on me fizz og ?...time will tell and i can only do what i do and keep on trying...so without further ado lets get a cracking !!..;)
                                                      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ROYAL ASCOT ~ DAY 2 ~

RACE 1 :

Jersey Stakes (Group 3)

WIN - GALE FORCE TEN - 1st @ 5.50
EW - GARSWOOD - 4th
LONG - MONTRIDGE -2nd @ 9.40
                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY : An odd race to start Day 2 off and certainly a good one for the bookies as favs have a dire record here and tbh are best avoided like the plague with winners ranging in price between 9/2 & 20/1 in the last 11 years with three 20/1 winners and most in double figures so trending for me is a bush spread through the middle order which will be a natural improver or a dark horse and for betting purposes i see 6 i am going to having a go on
For my Placepot and core selectivity i feel GALE FORCE TEN is assured a solid run and has to be on the shortlist along with GARSWOOD who disappointed lto but that was behind Dawn Approach and there are plenty that have failed behind him and lastly Montridge and these are based on my stats and figure readings however with this race being a graveyard for favs i feel that if im going to fail at todays Placepot then this will be the race that does me, this race is a mare, wide open and should be treated with caution.
                                                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RESULT : Good start and another cracking finish.
                                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RACE 2
Duke Of Cambridge Stakes (Formerly The Windsor Forest Stakes)
WIN - CHIGUN -
EW - DANK - 3rd @ 5.68
LONG - THISTLE BIRD -
                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY : This is a fascinating race for the older brigade over 1m with a few of these either coming into this in form , carrying old form or have the ability to improve and that makes this race a tough puzzle to solve although i am rather keen on CHIGUN  this daughter of Oasis Dream won lto rather more easily than the near 3L margin suggests beating some fairly good sorts there and now fully wound up i feel this will take all the beating here today but it wont be easy as i have at least 2 top quality opponents to put into the fray and they are MOONSTONE MAGIC ( NON RUNNER ) and DANK both of these should have a say in the finish but i feel Chigun should come out on top this time.
Duntle is interesting and will put up a good show but i feel will lack the class of the main players but Thistle Bird is improving and could improve enough again to land a blow for the minors.
                                                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RESULT : Duntle won with a gritty battling display in a 4 way finish.
                                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RACE 3

Prince Of Wales's Stakes

WIN - AL KHAZEEM - 1ST @ 3.83
EW - CAMELOT -
LONG - THE FUGUE - 3RD @ 8.45
                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY : This 1m2f race is a beaut , won last year by So You Think ( 2nd the year before ) for Aiden O'Brien who this year relies upon the mighty Dual Derby winning CAMELOT who was surprisingly beaten lto by the decent Al Khazeem but i feel there is a solid case for just writing off that piece of form as an anomaly as the pace was false and the race wasnt truly run however it doesnt disguise the fact it was beaten comfortably and if Camelot is to come out on top today then it will have to bring its " A " game as nothing else will do but this is no 2 horse race as outstanding filly THE FUGUE and French raider MAXIOS will both give them a race to remember, on form Al Khazeem should win but my heart is saying Camelot & my wallet is saying The Fugue should be backed....decisions decisions...
**Actually i do feel that at 1.56 >  CAMELOT to place is just outstanding and this is my bet.
                                                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RESULT : Camelot is now finished and should be retired , Fantastic win and superb ride from Doyle on Al Khazeem.
                                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RACE 4
Royal Hunt Cup
WIN - EXCELLENT GUEST -
EW - PRINCE OF JOHANE -
LONG - DIRECTORSHIP / TWO FOR TWO - ALL UNPLACED ;((
                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY : Hahahahahaha yeah what fucking ever....this is a 1m Cavalry charge with 30 runners and you will need more than a lucky pin , your lucky pin will need to be coated with fairy dust and blessed by leprechauns just to get one placed so trying to find the winner of this is going to be nigh on impossible and i will be having 4 for my placepot.....
PRINCE OF JOHANNE races off the same mark as when beating Excellent Guest, Don't Call Me and Field Of Dream in this 12 months ago and looked to be on the way back when second to Navajo Chief at York last time. He's 4lb better off with the latter now and should turn the tables and that run gives him the beating of Two For Two, Moran Gra and Es Que Love. Tom Tate's charge loves these big-field handicaps and, probably well drawn towards the far side, looks the one to beat again. Excellent Guest won the Victoria Cup over 7f here last month and is also respected, though is 4lb higher than last year, while Educate is an interesting runner. He's won four of his last five starts and will be held up for a late run here by Jamie Spencer. Goodwood scorer Burke's Rock is a possible improver near the foot of the weights and has Frankie on board while Chester winner Captain Bertie has just got into the handicap and could be dangerous, though he was only 11th last year and would probably have preferred some rain. Elusive Time and David Livingston represent Japan and South Africa respectively but neither make much appeal at the weights and Johnny Murtagh's first Royal Ascot runner as a trainer, Sweet Lightning, will do well to figure under a welter burden.
                                                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RESULT :
                                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RACE 5

Queen Mary Stakes

WIN - BELDALE MEMORY -
EW - FIRE BLAZE -
LONG - SURVIVED -
                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY : And the pain just doesnt stop there if you managed to wipe a tear or two from the last race then you have this ludicrous 24 runner 5f dash for 2 year olds that is a complete barrel roll as literally any one of the 24 runners could win this , its as tights as a nun's minge and im just going to have to rely upon my trusty stat bag and cross my fingers.
                                                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

RACE 6

Sandringham Handicap

WIN - AUCTION -
EW - FLEETING SMILE -
LONG - BRACING BREEZE / DESERT IMAGE -
                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY : Now if you still in the Placepot at this stage your one lucky fucker and if your looking at the finale as a getting out stakes then i suggest you pray to whatever god coats your arms as this is just bonkers...another 26 runner hcap over 1m for 3 yr olds and its another stats race...
ANNECDOTE has only run one bad race so far but that was on her only previous try over today's trip when she was more than seven lengths behind Trapeze. The latter is much worse off at the weights now, however, and is also 5lb out of the handicap proper and we're prepared to give another chance to Jonathan Portman's filly as not everything takes to Goodwood. Senafe is 5lb better off with Zurigha than when beaten a length and three-quarters at Kempton in April and she improved to finish third in the German 1000 Guineas earlier this month. Jeremy Noseda's charge also has claims as does the unexposed Hint Of A Tint, only beaten a neck in a Leopardstown Group 3 last month and now fitted with a hood to aid concentration. Mango Diva, who beat Stresa at Kempton before finishing second in a Listed race at Sandown, and Musidora Stakes third Woodland Aria are others with scope for improvement while Fleeting Smile is closely matched with a few of these on last year's form and can't be ignored after making a winning reappearance at Salisbury.
WOW!!!...what an incred tough day and i dont for one minute expect to be anywhere near winning the Placepot ( 10p stakes for today ) today as it looks incred tough in fact it looks borderline impossible so bets will be at a minimum today.
BEST BET : CAMELOT TO PLACE
BEST EW : CHIGUN
No other real bets today as i feel i will spending most of my time trading both pre and in running...Good Luck if your playing...
***PPL Members we have at least 4 to look at tmrw so hopefully we can get back our AK money and move on up.
Royal Ascot ~ DAY 1 ~
 Yes the day is almost upon us the start of this glorious week where everyone comes out in their finery and the racing is off the highest caliber a week which is jam packed full of class and for any keen race goer or lover of horse racing this is a week not to be missed!!.
Of course this year there is no Frankel but we do have enough shining stars to make it a week to remember and for starters on day one we will get to see Europe's ( if not the worlds ) best one miler in action in Dawn Approach , we will also get to see the Dubai Derby winner Animal Kingdom and another Meydan winner in the shape of sprint king Shea Shea.....yes its all mouthwatering stuff!.
Here are my views and takes on the opening days races with selections and some bets i will be taking on...
ROYAL ASCOT ~ DAY 1 ~
RACE 1 :
Queen Anne Stakes (British Champions Series) (Group 1)
WIN - ANIMAL KINGDOM - ( NAP ) -
EW - ALJAMAAHEER - 2nd @ 11.0
LONG - SOVEREIGN DEBT -
____________________
SUMMARY : The opening race is a gloriously good race , the QUEEN ANNE stakes over 1m and is usually contested by a hot pot backed up by a field full of nearly horses and today is no different although i do feel that this is possibly the weakest looking Queen Anne for some years as most of these look no better than group 3 or even top quality H'cappers...with the obvious exception of ANIMAL KINGDOM a brute of a horse part owned by Sheikh Mohammed and Team Valour and this lto won the UAE Derby ( 1m2f ) in quite taking fashion and looks in a different orbit to these ability wise and i absolutely see no way that this loses today it will be simply too darn good , max lumpo from me to kick the week off.
____________________
RESULT : Animal Kingdom could never go the pace and was beaten fair n square..disappointing but a great run from Aljamaaheer for 2nd.
___________________________________________________________
RACE 2 :
King's Stand Stakes
WIN - SHEA SHEA - 2nd @ 3.95
EW - KINGSGATE NATIVE -
LONG - RECKLESS ABANDON -
____________________
SUMMARY : A very tough sprint ( traditionally so ) and is won by a mixture of favs and outsiders although the 2nd quarter looks the best place to be ( stats wise ) and this year we see a few potential stars line up against some old favourites.
Firstly let me highlight a horse whom for many a year i lauded about as the best sprinter since sliced bread only for it to continually frustrate, annoy and let down in equal measures and now at the ripe old age of 8 it decides it wants to start winning again and the horse in question is KINGSGATE NATIVE an exceptionally quick horse than can travel at a high cruise speed and then quicken again off a sprint pace to kill those front runners in the final 1f , i do love this horse and it now owes me nothing but if it is to win again today it will have to post possibly a career best and show the sort of consistency that has previously alluded him.
The one they all have to beat ( imo ) is SHEA SHEA an absolute rocket from South Africa and multiple winner at Meydan ( broke track records ) and easily accounted for top quality sprinter Sole Power  and this is a sprinter right from the top drawer is another i will be having in big doubles/trebles.
And lets forget the Aussie star Shamexpress , the highly regarded Reckless Abandon and the yet to race this season Pearl Secret all to make this a cracker.
____________________
RESULT : She Shea ran well and easily beat those on his side but SOLE POWER racing on the near side got up in the shadow of the post to nail him , great race and well deserved win.
___________________________________________________________
RACE 3 :
St James's Palace Stakes
WIN - DAWN APPROACH - ( NB ) - 1st @ 2.39
EW - TORONADO - 2nd @ 7.41
LONG - MAGICIAN -
____________________
SUMMARY : This is possibly the race i am most looking forward to see as i will get to see DAWN APPROACH re assert himself as Europes Nos 1 Miler after running like an out n out nutcase in the Derby this is his trip and ground and i will be both shocked and disappointed if this cant win today.
" IF " DA does throw in another shocker then the list of horses that can or will take advantage is pretty much spread throughout the field with the likes of Magician , Mars , Glory Awaits and the excellent TORONADO all chomping at the bit to take him on.
Dawn Approach last won in the 2000 Guineas in scintillating fashion and was until the Derby unbeaten and looked immense and really does look the " real deal ".
____________________
RESULT : Gritty finish as Dawn Approach holds on for a fantastic win well clear of the third with the excellent Toranado a nose back in 2nd!!.
___________________________________________________________
RACE 4 :
Coventry Stakes
WIN - THUNDER STRIKE - 4th
EW - STUBBS - 6th
LONG - PARBOLD - 2nd @ 16.6
____________________
SUMMARY : This is traditionally one of the toughest races not only for the day but the meeting, 16 runners over 6f for 2 year olds...tough going and thats compounded by having so many with a cracking chance and coming into this with solid form.
Richard Hannon does well historically in this race and come here with 3 contenders and although stable jockey Hughes takes the ride on CHAMPIONSHIP  you cannot rule out the other two as they both have outstanding claims more so with THUNDER STRIKE who i have down as easily the quickest of the trio and a horse with speed to burn ( 3 wins from 3 )  and is possibly my overall selection.
The all powerful Aiden o'Brien comes with three STUBBS , War Command and Sir John Hawkins with the former looking the strongest after posting a very good time and comes here in solid winning form and will have a say in the final outcome and let not forget the highly regarded PARBOLD and a host of others that could get into this , will be another great race and another must see.
____________________
RESULT : Fantastic run from WAR COMMAND who absolutely destroyed these and has to be followed.
___________________________________________________________
RACE 5 :
Ascot Stakes (Handicap)
WIN - TIGER CLIFF - 2nd @ 5.81
EW - LIEUTENANT MILLER - 3rd @ 9.23
LONG - HOMERIC -
____________________
SUMMARY : This is a tough stamina test over 2m4f and not many can race at pace over this specialist marathon trip but TIGER CLIFF racing for Lady Cecil looks to be the best starting point as this has raced with a good degree of success over 1m6f running strong at the end of each race and i feel this could be a blot and at the likely odds im happy to have a good EW go at this.
Elsewhere we have HOMERIC and LIEUTENANT MILLER both of whom should run solid races in a race that looks stupendously wide open.
____________________
RESULT : Tiger Cliff got a poor ride here and for me with a better run would have won.
___________________________________________________________
RACE 6 :
Windsor Castle Stakes
WIN - ANTICIPATED - 3rd @ 5.95
EW - SUPPLICANT - 2nd @ 22.40
LONG - OGERMEISTER -
____________________
SUMMARY : Now to round the day off we have a ludicrously tough 28 runner sprint over 5f for 2 yr olds.....that whole sentence should have backers running for the hills as this is one for the magic pin only.
____________________
RESULT : Good result to round the day off as i hit the placepot with 8 Lines ( 25p ) = £2 @ £564.00 = £1128.00  BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
