Royal Ascot ~ Day 2 ~

The finish of the day on day 1 was easily the above battle between Toronado and the winner DAWN APPROACH ( blue ) and was a good winner for me after the fail and disappointment of Animal Kingdom however with 6 races on the card we hit 6 x 2nd's making me bridesmaid of the day!!..on the upside i did scoop the placepot for a wallet busting £1200.00 yesterday which was very nice and in 3 from the 6 races i hit 2 places in each giving me the boost required and will keep that in profit all week regardless ;).

Can we keep up the good work from day 1 or will i fall flat on me fizz og ?...time will tell and i can only do what i do and keep on trying...so without further ado lets get a cracking !!..;)

ROYAL ASCOT ~ DAY 2 ~

RACE 1 :

Jersey Stakes (Group 3)

WIN - GALE FORCE TEN - 1st @ 5.50
EW - GARSWOOD - 4th
LONG - MONTRIDGE -2nd @ 9.40
                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY : An odd race to start Day 2 off and certainly a good one for the bookies as favs have a dire record here and tbh are best avoided like the plague with winners ranging in price between 9/2 & 20/1 in the last 11 years with three 20/1 winners and most in double figures so trending for me is a bush spread through the middle order which will be a natural improver or a dark horse and for betting purposes i see 6 i am going to having a go on
For my Placepot and core selectivity i feel GALE FORCE TEN is assured a solid run and has to be on the shortlist along with GARSWOOD who disappointed lto but that was behind Dawn Approach and there are plenty that have failed behind him and lastly Montridge and these are based on my stats and figure readings however with this race being a graveyard for favs i feel that if im going to fail at todays Placepot then this will be the race that does me, this race is a mare, wide open and should be treated with caution.
                                                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RESULT : Good start and another cracking finish.
                                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RACE 2
Duke Of Cambridge Stakes (Formerly The Windsor Forest Stakes)
WIN - CHIGUN -
EW - DANK - 3rd @ 5.68
LONG - THISTLE BIRD -
                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY : This is a fascinating race for the older brigade over 1m with a few of these either coming into this in form , carrying old form or have the ability to improve and that makes this race a tough puzzle to solve although i am rather keen on CHIGUN  this daughter of Oasis Dream won lto rather more easily than the near 3L margin suggests beating some fairly good sorts there and now fully wound up i feel this will take all the beating here today but it wont be easy as i have at least 2 top quality opponents to put into the fray and they are MOONSTONE MAGIC ( NON RUNNER ) and DANK both of these should have a say in the finish but i feel Chigun should come out on top this time.
Duntle is interesting and will put up a good show but i feel will lack the class of the main players but Thistle Bird is improving and could improve enough again to land a blow for the minors.
                                                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RESULT : Duntle won with a gritty battling display in a 4 way finish.
                                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RACE 3

Prince Of Wales's Stakes

WIN - AL KHAZEEM - 1ST @ 3.83
EW - CAMELOT -
LONG - THE FUGUE - 3RD @ 8.45
                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY : This 1m2f race is a beaut , won last year by So You Think ( 2nd the year before ) for Aiden O'Brien who this year relies upon the mighty Dual Derby winning CAMELOT who was surprisingly beaten lto by the decent Al Khazeem but i feel there is a solid case for just writing off that piece of form as an anomaly as the pace was false and the race wasnt truly run however it doesnt disguise the fact it was beaten comfortably and if Camelot is to come out on top today then it will have to bring its " A " game as nothing else will do but this is no 2 horse race as outstanding filly THE FUGUE and French raider MAXIOS will both give them a race to remember, on form Al Khazeem should win but my heart is saying Camelot & my wallet is saying The Fugue should be backed....decisions decisions...
**Actually i do feel that at 1.56 >  CAMELOT to place is just outstanding and this is my bet.
                                                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RESULT : Camelot is now finished and should be retired , Fantastic win and superb ride from Doyle on Al Khazeem.
                                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RACE 4
Royal Hunt Cup
WIN - EXCELLENT GUEST -
EW - PRINCE OF JOHANE -
LONG - DIRECTORSHIP / TWO FOR TWO - ALL UNPLACED ;((
                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY : Hahahahahaha yeah what fucking ever....this is a 1m Cavalry charge with 30 runners and you will need more than a lucky pin , your lucky pin will need to be coated with fairy dust and blessed by leprechauns just to get one placed so trying to find the winner of this is going to be nigh on impossible and i will be having 4 for my placepot.....
PRINCE OF JOHANNE races off the same mark as when beating Excellent Guest, Don't Call Me and Field Of Dream in this 12 months ago and looked to be on the way back when second to Navajo Chief at York last time. He's 4lb better off with the latter now and should turn the tables and that run gives him the beating of Two For Two, Moran Gra and Es Que Love. Tom Tate's charge loves these big-field handicaps and, probably well drawn towards the far side, looks the one to beat again. Excellent Guest won the Victoria Cup over 7f here last month and is also respected, though is 4lb higher than last year, while Educate is an interesting runner. He's won four of his last five starts and will be held up for a late run here by Jamie Spencer. Goodwood scorer Burke's Rock is a possible improver near the foot of the weights and has Frankie on board while Chester winner Captain Bertie has just got into the handicap and could be dangerous, though he was only 11th last year and would probably have preferred some rain. Elusive Time and David Livingston represent Japan and South Africa respectively but neither make much appeal at the weights and Johnny Murtagh's first Royal Ascot runner as a trainer, Sweet Lightning, will do well to figure under a welter burden.
                                                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RACE 5

Queen Mary Stakes

WIN - BELDALE MEMORY -
EW - FIRE BLAZE -
LONG - SURVIVED -
                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY : And the pain just doesnt stop there if you managed to wipe a tear or two from the last race then you have this ludicrous 24 runner 5f dash for 2 year olds that is a complete barrel roll as literally any one of the 24 runners could win this , its as tights as a nun's minge and im just going to have to rely upon my trusty stat bag and cross my fingers.
                                                        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RESULT :
                                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RACE 6
Sandringham Handicap
WIN - AUCTION -
EW - FLEETING SMILE -
LONG - BRACING BREEZE / DESERT IMAGE -
                                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUMMARY : Now if you still in the Placepot at this stage your one lucky fucker and if your looking at the finale as a getting out stakes then i suggest you pray to whatever god coats your arms as this is just bonkers...another 26 runner hcap over 1m for 3 yr olds and its another stats race...
ANNECDOTE has only run one bad race so far but that was on her only previous try over today's trip when she was more than seven lengths behind Trapeze. The latter is much worse off at the weights now, however, and is also 5lb out of the handicap proper and we're prepared to give another chance to Jonathan Portman's filly as not everything takes to Goodwood. Senafe is 5lb better off with Zurigha than when beaten a length and three-quarters at Kempton in April and she improved to finish third in the German 1000 Guineas earlier this month. Jeremy Noseda's charge also has claims as does the unexposed Hint Of A Tint, only beaten a neck in a Leopardstown Group 3 last month and now fitted with a hood to aid concentration. Mango Diva, who beat Stresa at Kempton before finishing second in a Listed race at Sandown, and Musidora Stakes third Woodland Aria are others with scope for improvement while Fleeting Smile is closely matched with a few of these on last year's form and can't be ignored after making a winning reappearance at Salisbury.

WOW!!!...what an incred tough day and i dont for one minute expect to be anywhere near winning the Placepot ( 10p stakes for today ) today as it looks incred tough in fact it looks borderline impossible so bets will be at a minimum today.

BEST BET : CAMELOT TO PLACE

BEST EW : CHIGUN

No other real bets today as i feel i will spending most of my time trading both pre and in running...Good Luck if your playing...

***PPL Members we have at least 4 to look at tmrw so hopefully we can get back our AK money and move on up.
