A brilliant day at last making a total of  £1775-00 Profit , and very welcome it is too , a few more days like this and we'll be right back to where we was and will be able to make that push towards the first major obstacle , the £10k mark!!.
On the BACK bets , Beta didnt do so well at bath however at Folkstone it picked up two good priced winners @ 10.7 and 7.2 so you would have made a good profit there and would have made a small profit blindly backing both meetings!! , so still in great form which is good , obv not a blip and could be the real deal??? , my speed rating were a bit off today producing just two short priced winners and 5 placed horses ( beta back also had 2 placed horses inc' 1 @ 21.0 ) , but overall still very good.....
Has anyone been following either the Beta Backs or the raings tips? , if so what are your figures? ...right off for a bit now , cya all tmrw....

With just about 2 races left for me to trade i was ready to write up thats its been a mega impressive day , however spice bar and boston blue won their lucky last and took over £800 out of my profits!!...fucking shame that, was almost a faultless day after a rocky start , i have to say tho , wow on the backs side , how many winners got tipped up today??...abs incred , very good punting and some great trading made today , still quite nicely up for the day on the blog ( for now ) , and very pleased with the way everything has gone, restored my embattled confidence a bit......will update later with finals.., for now tho ttfn....and look forward to seeing you tmrw ;-)

What an incredibly bad day , financially i have taken a hammering today , but results wise i have mixed emotions as beta back has again for the 5th consecutive day has shown a profit in cluding winners at every meeting  ( inc: 1 @ 19.5 ) , my own selections have produced quite a few tidy winners , however my lays today have produced a freaky amount of winners and seconds and today was a very nervy trading day , now on a lot of these i did trade personally and greened up on nearly all , however there were still a couple today that i hammered and got well shot...here are some quick stats from today...

produced a total of 12 winners ( from 20 ) , however , 6 of those were advised LAYS , so took quite a kicking with them.

I have noticed over the last few days we have two more regulars , 1 from Dublin and 1 from Havana , come and say Hi , Dont be Shy ;-)

And here i am . what a sad sack lol , its my birthday and i have spent the morning reviewing races , and this afternoon i will be mainly trading....sigh what a life ;-) , hopefully tho i shall get out for a couple of sherbets later and maybe take go for a Chinese...nos 69 always looks appealing ;-**.
Had another storming day yesterday so the run continues and i see no reason for it to change , i think at long last we have found a stable base to work from and won that satisfies all my urgings , which for me is a key factor , also very pleased with the winners that the Beta Backs has been finding , overall results and roi is extremely high just at the minute , and it has a snowball effect , as i have made more in the last 7 days than i have in the 50 days prior...so obv fucking about with the bets, stakes, dutches earlier patently didnt work...
My team ARSENAL take on the mighty Man Utd today @ Old Trafford and tbh i think we will get stuffed either 2-0 or 3-1 , things do not look rosy in the Emirates garden , we will get hammered in the champions league and i think we will struggle to make top 6 this year so im not gonna hold my breath waiting for a trophy any time soon , what i will be doing however is at 80 mins in every arsenal game or ( if ) they go 2-0 ahead i will be laying them ( should be 1.01 - 1.12 ) , doing this last year would have reaped huge rewards and this year looks no different.

** I kinda agree with the beta back selection here but only in the place market , looking at the sectionals and race speed figures , Storming Bernard is a good 2 seconds quicker and covers all fractions quicker than everything ( over 7f ) , i think that 2.06 ( top 3 paid ) for a place is absolutely huge and is a far better bet than a lot of jollies that run for that or less , imo u should have a good go at this and set yourself up for the day.**

** Based on pure speed figures alone then Samitar has to be layed , yes it ran and won very well in the albany stakes and is a deserved favourite for this race and in all honesty probs should win ( with improvement ) , but two things that bug me with that form are ,
1) she was the oldest 2yr old in the race by far , that makes a big difference in the early season battles as they mature quicker and do have a physical advantage.
and..
2) the time of the race was poor , she didnt beat anything special and the race was very average for an albany.
So that said at even money ( currently 2.2 ) i would rather have the field ( even a poorish looking one like this ) running for me instead of just the one for the same payoff.
This is one of those races where the value comes into play , i know full well i am probably laying the winner but at the odds and in a race like this i have to lay the fav, good luck.

Overall i would have to say that today has been not far off stellar!!! , and the beta backs chipped in with a few more winners , getting a lot of 1st/2nds and i may start doing a few placepots for fun , lotd was great and again the adjusting staking helped us with the winners being at the lower end of the staking spectrum , so today we finished with a profit of £513-75 , so again another really good,solid day...hope you all did well!!.

Well firstly let me start by saying that yes i know the blog may look a bit different , that's because ive been messing around with the format and i didn't back up the original!! doh!! , i wanted to give this one a more professional look and feel , with more info on horses , courses and stats , but this appears a bridge too far!?.
i would be grateful if anyone had any ideas they could contribute or knows of any great sites where i can download some good templates, all the ones ive tried have been rubbish....
Concerning the blog and racing , we are in the midst of a very welcome purple patch and long may it continue , the beta backs are proving a useful tool to have , and that is the key , a betting armoury loaded with winning weapons , a single shot very rarely takes the prize , but a barrage usually sinks everything , so attacking the races with an armada of info , stats , betting platforms , skill and luck will result in a long term winning and profitable account.
this is my basic mindset for developing the Phoenix Pro System , its not about tipping a constant stream of winners ( which is impossible ) its about making a profit , a consistent profit , day in , day out, week in , week out , that's what separates the pro traders from the gamblers , gamblers get a great buzz from a good winning bet but also get very down when they lose , its like being bi-polar between 2-6pm every day , its not a great feeling , the best feeling is ending your day on a profit, sitting back , letting it all sink in and then just saying to yourself.." this is the life ".
in order to maximise any potential you may have you must first learn to control yourself , but being a gambler and having control is a bit like asking nielsen to attend pride and control himself.
i love horse racing , to me its a great sport and one i love to watch , i do myself like to have a flutter , go crazy and do shit i wouldnt normally do , but i have learnt over the years ( of endless mistakes and after spunking £1000's of pounds away ) to control these urges to a point , i have now mastered the greed part within me , and it has gone for good , i am quite adept at laying 2/3 or 4/5 horses a day making my money then walking away , however on the better racing days i really do want to be involved , ( thats the gambler coming out , nothing to do with greed , just the gambler ) so thats when i decided to start blogging and from each days profits i squirrel away a % to build up my " gamblers fund " , this war chest was and is for me to let loose and do the crazy shit i wanted to do with out it affecting my day to day living or expense account , this created the blog account , if it goes it goes , i can always rebuild , i can always save again and i think sometimes that is a primary factor in becoming a winning trader / gambler etc..its having the confidence to follow your work , back or lay your choices and to not worry about the outcome as it wont affect your income! , i think far to many people bet more than they can afford , they overstake , or bet with the gas money sticking it all onto a " dead cert " and then crying robbed when it gets beat @ 2/5.......!!
you HAVE to bet with money that is totally set aside from anything else, so that if it is lost it really doesnt matter as it was never there to begin with.

**INTERSTING RACE THIS, i have watched quite a few times and the fav Most Improved did run a tidy race first time out only to get done on the line by the fast finishing Kinglet ( bin suroor ) also completed in a very tidy time, however the race was set up for this imo , it raced in the front six all the way , had the run of the race throughout but did quicken up nicely when asked , however dwyer was working this from quite a way out and at the 2f pole appears to be giving some quite strong urgings , now there was indeed a fare bit of money for this on the day which could lead you to think that a win was expected but the field imo was weak with only the winner kinglet looking special ( or above average ) , he stalled badly and ran very green until eyeballed , i think @ 1.78 it HAS to be layed , but do i trade , imvho i think it really has a great chance of getting beat by a newcomer as the field is made up of potentially 85+ horses , and purely on a value basis you would have to be mental to back it at that.
my bet will be a lay of £200 @ 1.78, i think most improved could win and has an obvious chance but at the very prohibitive odds has to be taken on , however for the traders , myself included i also think the following trade is nailed on..£1000 @ 1.78 , with a back trade ( keep ) of £850 set @ 1.92 this will return either a profit of £2 or £150 , i think the trade is nailed on , you could extend the buy back to say 2.5 or indeed stagger it , the problem is , if it gets a good break and races front rank the price will only move once it has no chance or its chance has gone , so that is wasting money , if it gets a bad or tardy start then you will get an instant green.....things to consider.

For me there are just three to concentrate on here , DAFEEF who has been layed out for this on his belated return , W.Haggas has a good record in this race and the horse is sure to fit and primed up and must carry a big chance and @ 6.8 is certainly worth a nibble however the jockey does temper some enthusiasm.
The second horse i like here is REGAL PARADE who loves the 7f here and generally prefers 7f full stop however this season thus far has been raced at 6f with minor success ( only placed efforts ) so now back at a track and trip with ground he loves it would be no surprise to see him rout these.
Finally KING TOURUS ,  this lovely bay colt is also returning after a big lay off , but hails from the very consistent hannon yard with the usually reliable hughes in the saddle if this can reproduce its form from the Veuve Clicquot Vintage Stakes (group 2) then it would have every chance.

A very hard race to fathom out , with so many having a chance and with so many form strings its a nightmare compounded by the fact that most haven't tried the trip!
However Thubian is 10.5 and imo is far too short and i think its chances of winning are very slim to say the least , so i would make this a good lay in this race for some easy money , even at that price imo its free money , on the win side , i would very speculatively look at Communicator and Apache ( good luck ).

For me this is all about OPINION POLL , i simply cannot see this losing and @ 4.3 i think is outstanding value in a race ( he won this last year ) where most are untried over trip , unsure on ground and have been very inconsistent , and the 1.75 for a place is massive!!....i must urge everyone to have a go on this , win/place/ew whatever this for me is the bet of the day.
win or lose it has to be backed for a repeat win, my advice would be £150 win and £250 place.

Saptapadi will not win...right thats out the way, so what will?? , Lost in the Moment holds very strong claims along with foxhunt and TACTICIAN , with the latter just preferred , but this is a very close affair and i wouldnt go overboard on any.

Again there are 3 i like here for vastly different reasons , Firstly the form horse EXCELETTE  , B Smart likes this race and his charge holds very strong claims and @ 5.6 is a fantastic EW bet.
Secondly my propeller , if this can get the run of the race and dominate like he did at pontefract then he will not be caught , but im still unsure as to wether or not that was a fluke result , and finally at a big price ,  church music , this was quite the talking horse before it bolted up in a maiden but has subsequently failed , for me i will give it one last chance ew at a big price.
for betting purposes i cannot split so i will have a little ew dutch on the three....although Excelette is an outstanding stand alone ew bet.
- 1st and 3rd , so quite a decent result , excelette 3rd so happy with that...

Risky Art has to be a lay..surely , never raced beyond the minimum i simply wont have it that it will be good enough to win , free money time imo....
the winner however looks again to be decidedly trickier to find , for me if i was backing in this i would go for CRIUS , obv favs chance  but quite simply the rest really dont look anything special , small stakes win on crius for me. ( possibly wolfgang in the place market at 3.1 )
- 1st and 2nd...but wrong way round , risky art wins and costs me a few quid , steps up massively in trip and gets it on the line..;-(

I really think MARINE COMMANDO is coming back to form , won me a fortune last year when winning the windsor castle stakes , has been woeful since but his last time out 3rd after a bad start and the low weight now convince me he is ready and @ 12.0 im more than ready to risk a hefty ew on this with a little saver on york glory.

only french hollow was an ew bet , so we get £15 for the place part and £54 for the win , the others were all £20 win stakes = £220 ,..
Total from all returns = £439
so following today would have resulted in a very rough £161 loss.....
