Brrr....Its a Cool one this morning...

Morning all , interesting weekend , didn't make a great deal but did enjoy some fascinating racing , some highs , some lows and some dissapointments but overall a solid enough performance, Friday was great , Sat was terrible and Sun was solid so i am happy with the results although i did make a few errors along the way and due to my own non diligence a mistake or two was played out , that is something i am going to have to look at.
Onto today , a nice steady days racing lay ahead and we shall be heading off to Wolverhampton and its lively polytrack surface.

  1. Morning,

Yes, it is getting chilly. Have to get my thermals on soon. Not much two-year-old racing with just the one race 3:40. I will take a watching brief as I can't say I have any great opinion on the race. I will be following your progress. I'm busy updating my trainer stats today (takes a couple of months). Time consuming but quite enjoyable learning the strengths and weakness of a given trainer. Had my eye on Brian Meehan. Always an interesting trainer to find a few pearls of wisdom.

    Have a good day.

  2. Morning mate , today has started with a bang , was told the glen eagas would run a nice race and was worth an EW bet , nothing dramatic but i had a little go and it just won @ 17.02 so obv very happy with that , lets just hope that today can continue in the same vein....
Usual monday fare , but i actually do well on these so called quieter days , its easier to trade , my banker bet today would be a place only bet on castlemorris king in the 15:10 wolves.. , have a good un mate.

  3. Hi Clint,

From what I can see of the results it looks an ok kind of day. I watched the two-year-old race. Your three were all involved in the finish. I have had a good day analysing trainer profiles. Meehan, Bryan Smart & Charlie Hills. Very insightful.

    Have a good evening.

  4. Was a good solid day, nothing unspectacular but steady is good , certainly moving in the right direction.

  5. Hi Clint,

I will give you a summary of the best when I have concluded my research. Takes an age to really get to the bottom of each trainer but the data is a brilliant pointer. Stats are good at keeping people on the right path. 'Looking in the right direction' as I call it. They also impart a disciplined and quantifiable approach which can be objectively tested. A good point because most assessment of horses is very subjective with so many variables that it can be difficult to pin down what you are dealing with. Although, saying that, I do use both approaches because they are all parts of the same jigsaw puzzle. You can tell it's a subject I could ramble on about for ages...lol. Good that your day has been positive. Three two-year-old races tomorrow so I will have something to look at.

    Have a good evening.
