The Ew selections i posted up for York on Friday performed with great credit but the day pretty much panned out as i expected...with a few shocks and surprises as it looked that type of day and those of you that read the blog properly will know i did say that following York CD winners regardless of their current form always pays off and it transpired that i was i correct as JWALA won the Nunthorpe at 106.00 and this wasnt the first course specialist to be winning over the last couple of days..and the Stables that do well here..often do well and the Ryan and O'Meara yards have both been in sparkling form ( often saving their best for here )....and we head into the final day , pockets loaded and hopes high and try to tackle the Ebor...
YORK DAY 4
RACE 1
WIN - SIRIUS PROSPECT - 1st @ 3.82
EW - REX IMPERATOR - 2nd @ 3.25
LONG - LIGHTNING CLOUD -
SUMMARY : A nice little Listed race to break us in for this final day and over 7f you will see a few familiar faces popping up but only Sirius Prospect is a CD Winner but its the two 3 yr olds that look to be a class apart in this , Firstly we have the highly tried Cristopho Columbo who is easily good enough to take down an event like this if in the right mood but i still feel GLORY AWAITS is the one, equally as classy as runs behind Dawn Approach , Montiridge and Trading Leather have shown this deserves a decent win and is good enough to carry these on all recent form he gets the weight allowance due to his age yet is highest rated and gets pound for pound pull, this is an outstanding EW bet.
BET NOTES : ( Only General advice tho, as im subject to change as i try to work dutches into all my Bet choices ) : MAX EW on Glory Awaits.- NON RUNNER ( As well as Cristofo Columbo ) -

RACE 2
WIN - DEBDEBDEB -
EW - GREAT HALL - NON RUNNER ( Fav Placed for PP )
LONG - HAWK HIGH -
SUMMARY : The Melrose and 16 runners line up for what is considered the Ebor consolation prize racing over 1m6f this is one tricky puzzle....Havana Cooler must be on the shortlist as it looks like its been laid out for this and Cumani is still in decent form this won a decent Hcap over 1m4f and was running but will the 10lb rise be too much??.
DEBDEBDEB is one i like very much , progressive and aggressive this is a multi trip winner on most normal ground types and will def be involved come the finish.
Great Hall and Hawk High also have solid chances in what looks one of the toughest races this week if not the toughest to call.
BET NOTES : Small Dutch on the trio..not a race to get too financially involved in..but should be great to watch.

RACE 3
WIN - ASTAIRE - 1st @ 6.70
EW - WILSHIRE BOULEVARD - 2nd @ 5.50
LONG - MY CATCH -
SUMMARY : The Gimcrack , a great race yet a smallish turnout however this is packed with class and shud be a corker and on form alone not much separates these however we have to examine a few factors firstly i dont think Saayer will win with a penalty, Parbold was doing all his best work at the death lto and that was over 7f so although a CD winner i think he is a miler in waiting and......well im kinda stuck here...gonna sleep on this and continue in the morning.....**Right its not quite the following day but it is 2207pm and ive had time to mull...Now i dont think Cable Bay will be as effective on the softer ground and i dont think Justice Day is good enough so that rules 4 out leaving ASTAIRE , WILSHIRE BOULEVARD & MY CATCH and as the three are all currently 5.8 or higher i am going to just the three as there is very little to split them.
BET NOTES : 3 way Dutch.

RACE 4
WIN - TED VEALE - 4th @ 6.20
EW - HANOVERIAN BARON -
LONG - TIGER CLIFF / SUN CENTRAL - 1ST @ 7.06 / Non Runner
SUMMARY : THE EBOR and the pinnacle of the weeks mini festival at York and the Days biggest race, run over 1m6f this is a very tough race to win and it does quite often go to one at a big price.
Ted Veale comes into the race on the back of a couple of wins and does carry a penalty but this has been the subject of quite a large gamble and connections had a very tidy pick up on Friday at Newmarket with Quick Jack and at 9.8 is worth considering as a saver at the minimum.
I have also received a tip for this and itis also my selection HANOVERIAN BARON @ a far more enjoyable 44.0+ this was pulled from a race on thurs as soon as they knew they could sneak here on bottom weight, it is in form and its form figures although not flattering only tell half the tale and im convinced im gonna get a big run from this.
Tiger Cliff and Sun Central will also have a say in the outcome and shouldnt be under estimated.
BET NOTES : EW on Hanoverian Baron for me , nothing crazy but a decent bet with a trade at 1/4 bfsp.

RACE 5
WIN - EXCELS BEAUTY - 3rd
EW - OUTER SPACE - Non Runner ( Fav 2nd and a Place for PP )
LONG - HOT STREAK - 1st @ 4.54
SUMMARY : Now we have a 5f Sprint for 2 yr olds ( Cootey territory ) 8 runners and most have a decent shout here so some luck maybe required.
EXCELS BEAUTY is def the one they have beat , rock solid form locked away , consistent and straight forward this has speed to burn and a rating of 100 if true and fair and it will take a superb performance to lower his colours.
The two that could cause most problems both have around 16lb to find in core improvement and around 8-10lb on adjusted but both Hot Streak and Outer Space could easily improve enough to win.
BET NOTES : Will wait until the market forms proper tmrw but im thinking just an EW on Excels Beauty.

RACE 6
WIN - ROCKALONG -
EW - SENNOCKIAN STAR - 2nd @ 4.60
LONG - CHARLES CAMOIN -
SUMMARY : Now its just a standard 1m2f Hcap..Mark Johnston runs a couple of three-year-olds in this with Joe Fanning riding the ultra-consistent Sennockian Star. But four-year-olds have generally held sway in the contest in recent years and ROCKALONG can continue the trend. Luca Cumani's charge handled the step up to 1m2f at Newmarket last time and today's easier going is in his favour. Strictly Silver is no stranger to carrying big weights and is aiming to follow up a recent victory at HQ while Charles Camoin popped up at a big price on his reappearance at Ascot and should strip fitter here. Spirit Of The Law is another recent winner and Ruscello is usually thereabouts, though wouldn't want the ground any softer. Sam Sharp won over 1m1f here in June and also deserves a mention, though is high enough in the weights now.
BET NOTES : Dutch.

PlacePot LANDED 8 Lines ( £2.00 ) = x 2 PP Payout > £ = £
" Hanoverian Baron's owner, Paul Moulton, is thrilled and surprised the eight-year-old made the cut for the race.
He said: "We declared him for Friday because we thought he had a 10% chance of getting in the Ebor, but by some miracle he got in. He likes York and seems to have run all his best races there.
"He's eight now and is off nearly a career-high mark so we're not expecting any miracles, but if he was in the mix that would be great.
"He nearly won the Jorvik Stakes for the second time earlier this season when he was just touched off by one of Mr Stoute's horses (Sir John Hawkwood), but the young boy (Michael Murphy) got a good tune out of him so he rides him again. There's so much money on offer we had to run once he got in."
On the PP today as hopefully the rain will provide some shocks also on the glory and Ted ew double n singles. Good luck today
