Well that was a rough n tumble Saturday and i def seem to have a case of seconditis ;(...but everything pretty much panned out in the end, hit a few bum notes thru the day had a couple of Stat Lays that won lost some money but i did have a big Fap on Gregorian and a couple of other decent Dutches and a stupidly big Lay on Plutocracy to keep my Nose in front in fact i was quite a way ahead come 6pm then i had my final Stat Lay for the day and found another winner...bummer...so still a ok day and a far better ending than what it was or could have been!.
I dont usually do that much on a Sunday as a rule but there are some nice races in France to look at and a couple in the UK that have peaked my Interest.
At Longchamp then...In the first race i am quite keen on both CATCALL and RISKITFORABISKIT in this sprint and at 9/4 and 9/2 this is reasonable value.
RESULT : CATCALL ( hit 1.02 ) and RISKITFORABISKIT Dead heated for 3rd ( ffs ) in a rattling close finish as we had a DH for 1st and a DH for 3rd.
In the Prix Niel we see the return of the UK Derby Winner Ruler of the World and this will be well fancied to return to form after flopping at the Curragh but the simple truth is the Derby form isnt worth a wank.
This i feel will be going to Andre Fabre who runs 4 and they are arguably the best 4 in the race and i wouldnt look anywhere else for a bet.
RESULT : Great run from Ruler of the World to get 2nd in a Photo Finish as KIZUNA a son of Japanese Legend Deep Impact wins.
In the Gladiatuer the Gosden trained AIKEN is worth a nibble now he has a race under his belt and conditions to suit but this is a tough looking race with both GATERIE and DOMESIDE offering very stiff competition.
RESULT : DOMESIDE wins @ 8.41
Next up is the Prix Vermille and we see the wonderful WILD COCO out for just the 2nd time this season , this is a beautiful long striding filly and daughter of Shirocco but im not sure she is upto this , this acid test is a jump in class and will be her toughest race to date racing against the likes of ROMANTICA , Tasaday and the Aiden o'Brien trained Venus de Milo and not forgetting the unbeaten TREVE...at 9.6 she is worth an EW bet but wether or not he is upto it only time will tell , Treve is fantastic but to short at 2.42...great race to watch not so great to get involved in but i may have a small EW on Wild Coco just to cheer her on.
RESULT : TREVE 1st @ 1.83 ( Wild Coco run a great race behind an exceptional horse to get 2nd @ 10.50 ) and Tasaday 3rd.
And finally we have the Prix Foy which plays host to the once great but now regressive CAMELOT , twice beaten by Al Kazeem this year and offering very little off the bridle i cannot back this at all.
In fact this race is host to my NAP of the weekend in ORFEVRE which won this race last year before running a very gallant and unlucky 2nd in the Arc and that is again the plan this year and i simply cannot see this getting beat.
Have a great Sunday everyone ttfn x.
RESULT : 1st - ORFEVRE @ 1.86
silly sunday lump on orefevre...good luck clint
